B. Abstrak
• Subjek dan metode: Penelitian ini mengevaluasi 116 mata dari 58 pasien
yang menjalani operasi penggantian lensa untuk pengobatan katarak
kongenital bilateral antara Januari 1999 dan Januari 2011. Angka serta jenis
strabismus dan nystagmus ditentukan sebelum dan sesudah operasi. Jenis
strabismus dibandingkan pada pasien dengan dan tanpa nystagmus. Pasien
dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok (orthotropia / orthotropia, orthotropia /
strabismus, dan strabismus / strabismus).
• Hasil penelitian : Penelitian ini mengevaluasi 116 mata dari 58 pasien yang
menjalani operasi penggantian lensa untuk pengobatan katarak kongenital
bilateral antara Januari 1999 dan Januari 2011. Angka serta jenis strabismus
dan nystagmus ditentukan sebelum dan sesudah operasi. Jenis strabismus

Kehadiran strabismus, baik sebelum operasi atau pasca operasi, dikaitkan dengan
probabilitas tinggi dari nistagmus yang menyertainya (Tabel 3). Ketajaman
visual pasca operasi rata-rata pada pasien dengan katarak kongenital bilateral
adalah 0,7 ± 0,4 (rentang, gerakan tangan-20/13). Ketajaman visual pasca
operasi 20/40 atau kurang ditemukan pada 11 dari 40 pasien tanpa nistagmus,
dan 13 dari 18 pasien dengan nystagmus. Dengan demikian, ketajaman visual
pasca operasi ≤20 / 40 secara signifikan lebih sering pada pasien dengan
daripada tanpa nistagmus (P <0,001, uji Chi-square Pearson).
