The following text is for questions number 19 - 21

I personally think that a person with a mental illness that we usually find
wandering around our neighborhood aimlessly is not dangerous, but a serious act
needs to be done on this matter. The following reasons will show you why we need to
do something to those insane people.
Firstly, people with mental illness who walk around our neighborhood or
workplace may look scary. It is because most of the time they are found in dirty
condition and in zombie-like state (having no consciousness). However, they rarely
endanger the people around them, except if they were disturbed.
Secondly, losing their conscious mind does not mean that they have forgotten
their basic instinct for food, drinks and self-preservation. We can imagine what will
happen when they feel hungry or thirsty. They are roaming around on the street. They
will cause trouble to the people around them.
Thirdly, people with mental illness may not have a healthy mind, but they do
have a healthy body or at least healthy body parts. Without anyone caring, they are
the best target of human trafficking business as no one will notice if they disappear.
Based on the explanations above, it is clear that we need to protect the people
with mental illness by placing them in a special and secure facility. There, they can be
cured and taken care in appropriate way.

A. The way mental illness person lives.

A. the danger of mental illness person
B. mental illness person’s need for food
C. the healthy body of mental illness person

E. the basic sense of mental illness person for food and drink

21. Which of the following is not true according to the text?

A. Insane people loses their conscious mind.
B. People are afraid of mental illness person.
C. Mental illness person feels hungry and thirsty.
D. Insane people is the target of human trafficking business.
E. Protection to mental illness person is only needed for some cases.

Japanese supply ship heads to space station after delays

September 22, 2018 08:14 PM

The following text is for questions number 36 - 39

In their search for spices, the Portuguese arrived in Indonesia in 1511, after their
conquest of the Islamic kingdom of Malacca on the Malay Peninsula. They were
followed by the Spaniards. Both began to propagate Christianity and were most
successful in Minahasa and Maluku, also known as the Moluccas.

The Sultan of Aceh in Sumatra, the Sultan of Demak in Java and the Sultan of
Ternate in the Maluku islands joined forces in trying to ward off the Portuguese. At
that time the power and sovereignty of Ternate sultanate was recognized by more
than 72 islands, including the island of Timor. In 1570, the Portuguese succeeded in
killing the Sultan of Ternate, Khairun. However, his successor, Sultan Baabullah,
besieged the Portuguese fortress at Ternate. Baabullah then allied himself with the
Dutch to further confront the Portuguese and Spaniards.

In 1651 the Dutch invaded Kupang in Western Timor. Despite the Dutch presence in
Timor, the formal and precise definition of the territories controlled by the two
colonial powers did not take place until more than 200 years after the Dutch
conquest of Kupang. It was only on 20 April 1859, the Dutch concluded a treaty

The following text is for questions number 46 - 47

Animals might not be able to speak or master advanced language techniques,

but they certainly have other ways of communicating. It allows them to share their
interests with one another, warn others of predators, find a mating partner and teach
their offspring how to live among many other things.
Scientists hypothesize that dogs’ bark in a wide variety of social situations, with
acoustic communication in dogs being described as hypertrophic. Additionally, adult
dogs bark in long, rhythmic stanzas. Dogs have been known to bark for hours on end.
Dogs live in extraordinarily close range with humans, in many societies kept
solely as companion animals. From a very young age, humans tend to be one of a
dog’s primary social contacts. Dogs’ close barking is a way to attract attention, and the
behavior is continued by the positive response exhibited by the owners (e.g., if a dog
barks to get food and the owner feeds it, the dog is being conditioned to continue said
behavior).
When dog bark in a high-frequency hysterical-sounding, it can be accompanied
by whining, it can be defined as excitement bark. One observes it when a hyper dog is
highly aroused, like when people come home or the dog is going out in a car or there
is another dog in sight. If the dog produces a single “woof” sound meant to convey a
warning. It’s not going to be loud and prolonged. But it has an important message.
Often people don’t even notice this bark. So a dog feels like his/her message was
ignored and then takes charge of the situation. This can result in aggression or a full-
fledged barking problem. Acknowledge warning barks.

The following text is for questions number 48 - 50

Mangoes are juicy stone fruit (drupe) from numerous species of tropical trees
belonging to the flowering plant genus Mangifera, cultivated mostly for their edible
fruit. These species are mostly found in nature as wild mangoes.
Mango trees grow to 35–40 m tall, with a crown radius of 10 m. Some specimens
still produce fruit after 300 years. The leaves are evergreen, alternate, simple, 15–
35 cm long, and 6–16 cm broad; when the leaves are young they are orange-pink,
rapidly changing to a dark, glossy red, then dark green as they mature. The flowers are
produced small and white with five petals 5–10 mm long, with a mild, sweet
fragrance. Over 500 varieties of mangoes are known, many of which ripen in summer,
while some give a double crop. The fruit takes four to five months from flowering to
ripen.
Mangoes are generally sweet, although the taste and texture of the flesh (soft
inside part of a fruit) varies across cultivars; some have a soft, pulpy texture similar to
an overripe plum, while others are firmer, like a melon or avocado, and some may
have a fibrous texture. The skin of unripe and pickled or cooked mango can be
consumed, but has the potential to cause contact dermatitis of the lips or tongue in
susceptible people.
Ripe mangoes are often cut into thin layers, desiccated, folded, and then cut. The
fruit is also added to cereal products such as muesli and oat granola. Mangoes are
often prepared charred in Hawaii. Unripe mango may be eaten with fish sauce,
vinegar, soy sauce, or with dash of salt (plain or spicy). Dried strips of sweet, ripe
mango (sometimes combined with seedless tamarind to form mangorind) are also
popular. Mangoes may be used to make juices, mango nectar, and as a flavoring and
major ingredient in ice cream.

48. What is the topic of the passage?

A. Explaining the way mango trees produce fruit.
B. Explaining how to serve mango juice.
C. Explaining about mango trees.
D. Describing mango leaves.
E. Describing mangoes.
