Lima spesies penyebab malaria yaitu,
Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale, Plasmodium
malariae, Plasmodium Knowlesi. Hati adalah organ pertama yang terlibat dalam
reproduksi parasit malaria.

ABSTRACT

CORELATION SGPT AND SGOT LEVELS ON DENSITY OF

PARASITEMIA IN MALARIA PATIENTS PUSKESMAS JARO MARET
2020

Malaria is an infectious disease caused by Protozoa of the genus Plasmodium

transmitted by Anopheles mosquito bites. Five species that cause malaria, namely,
Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale, Plasmodium
malariae, Plasmodium Knowlesi. The liver is the first organ involved in reproduction
of malaria parasites. Increased levels of SGOT and SGPT to the density of
parasitemia due to the continuous increase in the number of parasites can cause
inflammation of liver cells resulting in histopathology and liver functional system and
also because of the ecso-erythrocytic cycle of parasitic infections that cause malaria
to invade liver cells and destroy erythrocytes. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship of SGPT and SGOT levels to the parasitemia density in
malaria patients in the Jaro Health Center area March 2020. This study was an
analytical survey with Accidental total sampling technique. This study got 15
respondents. The measurement method is enzymatic kinetic using the Biosystem
Analyzer A2 tool. Analysis of the data using the application of spss. Based on the
results of the study obtained normal levels of SGPT by 7 people and those with
abnormal levels of SGPT by 8 people. normal SGOT levels were 8 people and those
who had abnormal SGOT levels were 7 people. The results of Spearman Rank test
data analysis showed the relationship of SGPT levels to parasitemia density with a
significance level of 0.05 obtained p-value 0.0000001 <0.05 and the results of the
relationship of rho SGOT levels to parasitemia density with a significance level of
0.05 obtained p-value of 0.00006 < 0.05. Based on the decision criteria above, it can
be concluded that there is a relationship between the density of parasitemia with
SGPT and SGOT levels.
