KOMPETENSI DASAR

 Menyusun teks lisan dan tulis untuk menyatakan dan merespon ungkapan menyatakan
pendapat dan pikiran, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur
kebahasaan, benar dan sesuai konteks.

TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN

dipelajari dengan yang ada di berbagai sumber lain.

 Menyusun percakapan menggunakan ungkapan menyatakan pendapat dan pikiran serta
responnya dalam konteks simulasi, role play, dan kegiatan lain yang terstruktur.

AN OPINION

I. DEFENITION:
An opinion is a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or
knoledge. Suatu pandangan atau penilaian tentang sesuatu, tidak harus didasarkan pada fakta
atau pengetahuan

B. RESPONDING TO AN OPINION (Merespon Pendapat)

Ketika kita tidak setuju dengan pendapat (Disagreeing) seseorang maka:

 Use polite expressions and “I” statements.


(Menggunakan ungkapan yang sopan dan menggunakan “I”)
Contoh:
I’m afraid I can’t agree with that opinion.
I personally partly agree with the idea.
I don’t completely agree with the idea.

 Listen to the person until they finish. Don’t interrupt them.


(Mendengarkan mereka sampai selesai. Jangan menginterupsi mereka)
 Find a common ground. (Temukan landasan bersama)
Contoh:
While I agree that homeschooling is, I think traditional schooling has more benefits.

C. NO OPINION
It is also possible that we don’t have an opinion (yet) about something or don’t want to
express it.
(Mungkin juga kita tidak/belum memiliki pendapat tentang sesuatu atau tidak ingin
mengungkapkannya.)

Here are ways to avoid expressing an opinion.

Contoh:
I couldn’t say.
I really can’t say.
You’re asking the wrong person.
I’m not in a position to give an opinion.

II. LANGUAGE FEATURES (Ciri Kebahasaan)


When we want to express an opinion we use (Ketika kita ingin mengungkapkan pendapat kita
dapat menggunakan):

 Certain verbs (Kata Kerja tertentu): feel, think, believe, understand, regard, assume,
etc.
I think that the government should do something.
She feels that Japanese cars are better than European ones.
I believe that the UN has done a good job so far.

 Linking verbs (Kata kerja Penghubung): appear, seem, look, get, etc.
He seems the right person for the job.
She appears younger than her age.

 Adjectives (Kata Sifat): the best, the most, nice, good, bad, worse, terrible, etc.
This is the most luxurious hotel I’ve ever seen.
My father bought a horrible mask.

 Certain phrases (Frasa tertentu): in my opinion, according to me, as far as I’m


concerned, etc.
In my opinion, there are too many holidays.
It is my opinion that he will be a great leader someday.
As far as I’m concerned, the school holidays are too short.

ceritanya menakjubkan! Omong-omong, bagaimana kalau kita nonton serial

perhaps? (Aku sungguh yakin itu ide yang bagus. Mungkin kita bisa
nonton Stranger Things?)
Bagas : That is great. Let’s go! (Bagus. ayo!)
