1. Tujuan / Purpose
Tujuan dari dokumen ini adalah untuk memberikan petunjuk cara penggunaan dan perawatan
Alat Pemadam Api Ringan (APAR).
The purpose of this document is to provide instructions on how to use and maintain the light
fire extinguisher.

2. Ruang Lingkup / Scope

Prosedur ini berlaku untuk semua Alat Pemadam Api Ringan di lingkungan PT Mursmedic Jaya
Mandiri.
This procedure applies to all Light Fire Extinguishers in the PT Mursmedic Jaya Mandiri area.

3. Singkatan dan Definisi / Abbreviation and Definition

3.1. Singkatan / Abbreviation
3.1.1. APAR : Alat Pemadam Api Ringan
3.1.2. GA : General Affairs
3.1.3. QA : Quality Assurance
3.2. Definisi / Definition
Alat Pemadam Api Ringan (APAR) adalah alat yang ringan serta mudah digunakan oleh
satu orang untuk memadamkan api pada mula terjadi kebakaran.
Light Fire Extinguisher is a lightweight device that is easily used by one person to
extinguish a fire when a fire starts.

4. Referensi / Reference
4.1. Peraturan Menteri Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi No. PER.04/MEN/1980. Syarat-
Syarat Pemasangan dan Pemeliharaan Alat Pemadam Api Ringan.

4.2. Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor 20. 2017. Cara Pembuatan
Alat Kesehatan dan Perbekalan Kesehatan Rumah Tangga Yang Baik.

5. Tanggung Jawab / Responsibilities

5.1. GA Officer
Menentukan jenis, jumlah, dan lokasi pemasangan APAR, serta melakukan
pemasangan dan perawatan APAR sehingga selalu siap untuk digunakan.
Determine the type, number, and installation location of APAR, and as well as
installing and maintaining the fire extinguisher so that it is always ready for use.

5.2. Quality Assurance

Memastikan prosedur penggunaan dan perawatan APAR dilaksanakan dengan baik
dan benar.
Ensure that the procedures of using and maintaining APAR are carried out properly
and correctly.

6. Prosedur / Procedure
6.1. Pemasangan APAR / Light Fire Extinguisher Installation
6.1.1. Jenis APAR yang digunakan terdiri dari APAR tepung kering dan APAR
Karbondioksida (CO2).
The type of light fire extinguisher used consists of dry powder and
carbondioxide (CO2) fire extinguisher.
6.1.2. Alat pemadam api ringan harus ditempatkan pada posisi yang mudah dilihat
dengan jelas, mudah dicapai dan diambil, serta dilengkapi dengan tanda
pemasangan dan cara penggunaan APAR yang dapat dibaca dengan jelas,
seperti yang tertera pada Lampiran.
Light fire extinguishers must be placed in a position that is seen clearly, easily
reachable and retrieved, and equipped with a sign of installation and how to
use APAR that can be read clearly, as stated in the Appendix.
6.1.3. Tinggi pemberian tanda pemasangan APAR adalah 125 cm dari dasar lantai
tepat di atas APAR.
The height of the APAR sign is 125 cm from the bottom of the floor just above
the APAR.
6.1.4. Penempatan APAR harus sesuai dengan jenis dan penggolongan kebakaran.
Lokasi penempatan APAR di PT Mursmedic Jaya Mandiri dapat dilihat pada
Lampiran.
APAR placement must be in accordance with the type and classification of fire.
The location of APAR placement in PT Mursmedic Jaya Mandiri can be seen in
the Appendix.
6.1.5. Penempatan APAR yang satu dengan yang lain tidak boleh lebih dari 15 meter,
kecuali ditetapkan lain.
Placement of one APAR with another must not exceed 15 meters, unless
otherwise stipulated.
6.1.6. Setiap APAR harus dipasang menggantung pada dinding dengan konstruksi
penguat sehingga bagian atas (puncaknya) berada pada ketinggian 1,2 m dari
permukaan lantai kecuali APAR jenis CO 2 dan tepung kering dapat ditempatkan
lebih rendah dengan syarat, jarak antara dasar alat pemadam api ringan tidak
kurang 15 cm dari permukaan lantai.

condition; the distance between the fire extinguishers is not less than 15 cm
from the surface of the floor.
6.1.7. APAR tidak boleh dipasang dalam ruangan dengan suhu melebihi 49 0C atau
turun sampai (-440C) kecuali apabila APAR tersebut dibuat khusus untuk suhu
diluar batas tersebut.
Light fire extinguisher should not be installed in a room with a temperature
exceeding 490C or down to (-44 0C) unless the light fire extiguisher is made
specifically for temperatures outside these limits.
6.1.8. APAR yang ditempatkan di ruang terbuka harus dilindungi dengan tutup
pengaman.
The fire extinguisher placed in an open space must be protected with a safety
cap.
6.2. Penggunaan APAR / Usage of Light Fire Extinguisher
Berikut cara penggunaan APAR: / Here's how to use light fire extinguisher:
6.2.1. Ambil APAR dari tempatnya
Take the Light Fire Extinguisher from its place
6.2.2. Bebaskan selang dari jepitannya
Free the hase from the clasp
6.2.3. Cabut pin pengaman
Unplug the security pin
6.2.4. Pegang nozzle dengan tangan kiri arahkan ke atas
Hold the nozzle with the left hand and pointing up
6.2.5. Tekan katup/handle (untuk tes alat)
Press the valve/handle (for testing)
6.2.6. Ambil jarak ideal ±4 m di belakang arah angin
Take an ideal distance of ±4 meters behind the wind direction
6.2.7. Arahkan nozzle ke sumber api
Direct the nozzle at the source of the fire
6.2.8. Arahkan nozzle mulai dari api yang terkecil
Aim the nozzle starting from the smallest flame

6.3. Perawatan APAR / Light Fire Extinguisher Maintenance

6.3.1. Setiap APAR harus diperiksa sebulan sekali dan didokumentasikan pada Form
Perawatan APAR.
Each light fire extinguisher must be inspected once a month and documented
on the Fire Extinguisher Inspection Form.
6.3.2. Pemeriksaan pada APAR meliputi:
Inspections on light fire extinguisher include:
a. Berisi atau tidaknya tabung, berkurang atau tidaknya tekanan dalam
tabung, hingga rusak atau tidaknya segi pengaman tabung.
Whether or not the tube is contained, the pressure in the tube is reduced
or not, until the safety aspect of the tube is damaged or not.
b. Bagian luar tabung tidak boleh cacat termasuk handle dan label harus
selalu dalam keadaan baik.
The outside of the tube must not be deformed including the handle and
label must always be in good condition.
c. Mulut pancar tidak boleh tersumbat dan pipa pancar yang terpasang tidak
boleh retak atau menunjukkan tanda – tanda rusak.
The pipe should not be blocked and the attached pipe must not be cracked
or show signs of damage.
d. Untuk alat pemadam api jenis karbondioksida (CO 2) harus diperiksa
dengan cara menimbang serta mencocokkan beratnya dengan berat yang
tertera pada alat pemadam api tersebut, apabila terdapat kekurangan
berat sebesar 10% tabung pemadam api tersebut harus diisi kembali
sesuai dengan berat yang ditentukan.
For carbon dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers, it must be checked by
weighing and matching the weight with the weight stated on the fire
extinguisher, if there is a shortage of weight of 10%, the fire extinguisher
must be refilled according to the specified weight.
Cara-cara pemeriksaan tersebut diatas dapat dilakukan dengan cara lain
sesuai dengan perkembangan.
The inspection methods above can be done in other ways in accordance with
developments.
6.3.3. Lakukan percobaan setiap APAR secara berkala dengan jangka waktu tidak
melebihi 5 tahun sekali dan harus kuat menahan tekanan coba (20 kg/cm 2).

Test each light fire extinguisher periodically with a period of not exceeding 5
years and must be strong withstand the test pressure (20 kg/cm 2).
6.3.4. Setiap tabung APAR harus diisi kembali selambat-lambatnya 5 tahun sekali.
Each light fire extinguisher tube must be refilled no later than 5 years.
6.3.5. Semua APAR sebelum diisi kembali harus dilakukan pemeriksaan atau
tindakan sebagai berikut:
Before being refilled, all light fire extinguisher unit must be inspected as
follows:
a. Isinya dikosongkan secara normal
The contents are emptied normally
b. Setelah seluruh isi tabung dikeluarkan, katup kepala dibuka dan periksa
tabung serta alat-alat
After the entire contents of the tube are removed, the head valve is
opened and inspect the tube and tools
c. Bagian dalam tabung harus diteliti untuk memastikan tidak terdapat
lubang atau cacat
The inside of the tube must be examined to make sure there are no holes
or defects
d. Ulir katup kepala harus diberi gemuk tipis, gelang tutup ditempatkan
kembali dan tutup kepala dipasang dengan mengunci sampai kuat
The head valve threaded must be given a thin grease, the cap ring is
placed back and the headgear is fixed by locking it tightly
e. Tanggal, bulan, dan tahun pengisian harus dicatat pada badan APAR
tersebut
The date, month, and year of filling must be recorded on the light fire
extinguisher unit.

6.4. Ruang Lingkup Penggunaan APAR / Scope of Use of APAR

6.4.1. APAR dapat digunakan ketika :

a. Api kecil dan tidak berkembang.

b. Pengguna APAR sudah familiar dengan cara menggunakan alat pemadam

api.
APAR users are familiar with how to use a fire extinguisher.
c. Pengguna APAR memiliki jalan yang aman untuk keluar dari gedung.
APAR users have a safe way to exit the building.
d. Pengguna APAR sudah terdaftar pada regu pemadam perusahaan.
APAR users are already registered with the company's fire department.
e. Ruangan tidak dipenuhi asap.
The room is not filled with smoke.
6.4.2 Satu buah APAR berukuran 6 kg dapat memadamkan api pada ruangan
berukuran 200 meter persegi.
One fire extinguisher measuring 6 kg can extinguish a fire in a room measuring
200 square meters.
