Automation Designer

➢ Job Purpose

[What and Why 1]: To do automation engineering drawings development and

human-machine interface graphical displays development to be used in
automation studies and automation projects, and

[What and Why 2]: To do human-machine interface (HMI) application system

technical supports to solve HMI problems and to sustain HMI performance

[Where and How]: across Process Plant department in safe, time-efficient, cost-
efficient, workforce-effective, target-oriented, and quality-orientedmanners.

➢ Major Accountabilities
1. Develop basic / conceptual design to be used as base for development of
automation engineering drawings and human-machine interface graphical
displays.
2. Develop automation engineering drawings (complete with their bill of
materials) and human-machine intreface graphical displays to be used in
automation studies and automation projects across Process Plant department in
safe, time-efficient, cost-efficient, workforce-effective, target-oriented, and
quality oriented manners.
3. Do human-machine interface (HMI) application system technical supports to
solve HMI problems or to sustain HMI performance across Process Plant
department in safe, time-efficient, cost-efficient, workforce-effective, target-
oriented, and quality-oriented manners.
4. Execute automation section’s annual safety program in his / her work to
prevent incident / accident from happening and to achieve compliance
with safety effectiveness / improvement program of Process Plant
Department.
5. Execute automation section’s annual personnel development program
assigned to him / her to achieve automation personnel behavioral
competencies and to support career and succession plans.
6. Keep personal automation technical expertise or competency up-to-date to
be able to technically perform his / her works and to be able to properly actas
automation technical advisor for Process Plant management.

Electrical Instrument Designer

➢ Purpose of the Role

Provide electrical & instrumentation engineering drawings and design for
construction engineering projects and technical support for maintenance
activities, that are accurate, comprehensive, understandable, constructable,
useable and in accordance with PTI technical standards, Major Hazard
Standards (MHS) & EHS standards and operation procedures.

➢ Major Accountabilities
• Ensure compliance to all safety procedures, standards and policies.
• Develop design drafting of engineering drawings that comply with PTI
standards and are accurate, usable, maintainable, comprehensive,
understandable and constructible.
• Develop material take-off and preparation of Bills of Materials, for accurate
estimation of costs and procurement of materials.
• Perform as-built record updating, to ensure accurate records for PTI
Maintenance and Operations.
• Document preparation and issue in accordance with PTI Standard to ensure
no duplication of drawings and quick identification and quick recovery of
drawing records.
• Develop design drawings requirements in conjunction with the Design
Engineer, to enable construction, operational and maintenance.
• Conduct field investigation to verify information to meet objective safety,
constructability and maintainability.

• Skill & Knowledge

• Knowledgeable of CAD drafting software
• Knowledgeable of Electrical and Instrumentation design standards
• Knowledgeable of Electrical or Instrumentation engineering drafting,
construction and fabrication activities
• Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation materials and applications.

Junior Automation Engineer

➢ Job Purpose
Conduct automation technical supports, automation studies, and
automation projects across Process Plant department to solve problems, to
sustain performance, or to realize improvement initiatives in safe, time-
efficient, cost-efficient, workforce-effective, target-oriented, and quality-
oriented manners.

➢ Main Accountabilities
1. Do automation technical supports for Process Plant Operation Groups,
Process Plant Maintenance Groups, Process Plant Engineering Group, and
Capital Project Management Group to solve problems and to sustain
performance in safe, time-efficient, cost-efficient, workforce-effective, target-
oriented, and quality-oriented manners.
2. Act as project automation design engineer for automation projects to
execute these automation projects with referring to PTVI project delivery
system.
3. Involved in project/task during project execution phase (construction,
commissioning and startup). And to ensure all of activities in project execution
phase are executed as standard procedure.
4. Involved in process safety assessment required by project/task such as Risk
Asessment, HAZOP, JSA, SWP, HIRA, LOPA and etc.
5. Update PTVI Process Plant OT documents to keep those documentations up-
to-date, and Execute Vale Global OT standards implementation on PTVI
Process Plant OT standards to realize the results of colaboration with Vale
Global OT Team.
6. Execute automation section’s annual safety program in his / her work to
prevent incident / accident from happening and to achieve compliance
with safety effectiveness / improvement program of Process Plant
Department.
7. Execute automation section’s annual personnel development program
assigned to him / her to achieve automation personnel competencies and to

Junior Instrument Engineer

➢ Job Purpose
To do Instrumentation technical supports, Instrumentation studies, and
Instrumentation projects across Process Plant department to solve
problems, to sustain performance, or to realize improvement initiatives

oriented, and quality-oriented manners.

➢ Main Accountabilities
1. Do Instrumentation technical supports for Process Plant Operation
Groups, Process Plant Maintenance Groups, Process Plant Engineering
