Apa itu Narrative Text?


Narrative text adalah cerita fiksi atau cerita karangan yang dibuat untuk
menghibur pembaca. Narrative text biasanya kita jumpai dalam bentuk dongeng, cerita
rakyat, maupun cerita fiksional lainnya. Narrative text terdiri dari kejadian berurutan
yang mengarah ke dalam suatu klimaks, dan akhirnya menemukan penyelesaian.

Tujuan Narrative text


The Purpose of Narrative Text is to amuse or to entertain the reader with a
story. Narrative text bertujuan untuk menghibur pembaca tentang suatu kisah atau
cerita.

Generic Structure of Narrative Text


Narrative Text memiliki 3 susunan struktur seperti ini:
1. Orientation
Bagian orientation berisi tentang pembukaan cerita yang mengandung
pengenalan tokoh, pengenalan latar belakang waktu dan tempat dari cerita.
Pokoknya bagian ini mengandung bagian umum dari cerita yang mencakup apa,
siapa, kapan, dan dimana cerita tersebut diceritakan.
2. Complication
Pada bagian ini, sang tokoh utama mulai mengalami konflik dalam kehidupannya
dan sang pemeran utama harus menyelesaikan konflik-konflik tersebut.
3. Resolution
Bagian resolution adalah bagian cerita akhir (ending). Pada bagian ini semua
masalah sudah harus terselesaikan oleh sang tokoh utama. Dalam bagian
resolution juga biasanya terdapaat pesan moral atau moral value atau nasihat
yang bisa kita ambil dari cerita tersebut. Moral value pada ending sebuah
narrative text disebut dengan Coda.

Unsur kebahasaan dan ciri - Ciri Narrative Text


 Menggunakan Action Verb dalam bentuk Past Tense. Misalnya : Walked, Said,
Wondered, dsb.

 Menggunakan Nouns tertentu sebagai kata ganti orang, hewan dan benda
tertentu dalam cerita. Misalnya : the princess, the girl, the queen, dsb.
 Menggunakan adjective yang membentuk satu kesatuan noun phrase. Misalnya :
The red riding hood, the poisoned apple, dsb.
 Menggunakan Time Connectives dan Conjunction untuk mengurutkan kejadian-
kejadian. Misalnya : before, after, then, next,soon, dsb.
 Menggunakan Adverbs dan Adverbial Phrase untuk menunjukkan lokasi kejadian
atau peristiwa. Misalnya : on the sea, in the mountain, there, happily ever after,
dsb.

Once upon a time in west java, lived a writer king who


had a beautiful daughter. Her name was Dayang Sumbi.
She liked weaving very much. Once she was weaving a
cloth when one of her tools fell to the ground. She was very

just shouted out loudly.

Anybody there! Bring me my tool. I will give you


special present. If you are female. I will consider you as my
sister. If you are male, I will marry you. Sunddenly a male
dog, its name was Tumang came. He brought her the
falling tool. Dayang Sumbi was very surprised. She
regretted her words but she could not deny it. So she had
marry Tumang and leave her father. Then they lived in a
small village. Several months later they had a son. His
name was Sangkuriang. He was a handsome and healthy
boy.

Sangkuriang liked hunting very much, especially
deer. He often hunting to the wood usying his arrow. When
he went hunting , Tumang was always with him.

One day Dayang Sumbi wanted to have deer’s heart


so she asked Sangkuriang to hunt for a deer. Then
Sangkuriang when to the wood with his arrow and his
faithful dog. Tumang, but afher several days in the wood
Sangkuriang could not find any deer. Then where all
disappeared. Sangkuriang was exhausted and desperate.
He did not want to disappoint her mother so he killed
Tumang. He did not know that Tumang was his father.
Tumang’s heart to her mother. But Dayang Sumbi knew
that it was Tumang’s heart. She was so angry that she
could not control her emotion. She hit Sangkuriang at his
head Sangkuriang was wounded. There was a scar in his
head. She also repelled her son. Sangkuriang left her
mother in sadness.

Many years passed and Sangkuriang became a


strong young man. He wandered everywhere. One day he
arrived. at his own village but he did not realize it. There he
met Dayang Sumbi. At the time Dayang Sumbi was given
an eternal beauty by God so she stayed young forever.
Both of them did know each other. So they fall in love and
then they decided to marry. But then Dayang Sumbi
recognized a scar on Sangkuriang’s head. She knew that
Sangkuriang was his son. It was impossible for them to
marry. She told him but he did not beliave her. He wished
that they marry soon. So Dayang Sumbi gave very difficult
condition. She asked Sangkuriang to build a lake and a
boat in one night! She said she needed that for
honeymoon.

Sangkuriang agreed. With the help of genie and


spiritis, Sangkuriang tired to build them. By midnight he
had completed the lake by building a dam in Citarum river.

Then he started making the boat. It was almost dawn
when he almost finished it. Meanwhile Dayang Sumbi kept
watching on him. She was very worried when she knew
this. So she made lights in the east. Then the spiritis
thought that was already dawn. It was time for them to
leave. They left Sangkuriang alone. Without their help he
could not finish the boat.

In the quiet sea, suddenly a thunderstorm came. His


huge ship was wrecked and it was too late for Malin
Kundang to apologize. He was thrown by the wave out of
his ship. He fell on a small island. It was really too late for
him to avoid his curse. Suddenly, he turned into a stone.

Roro Jonggrang

Once upon a time there was a king named Prabu Boko who reigned in
Prambanan. Prabu Boko is a giant Galaxy. He has a daughter named Roro Jonggrang.
The king was killed in a fierce battle by the minister of the King of Pengging, who fought
with a magic weapon called ‘Bandung’. For this reason, he was known as ‘Bandung
Bandawasa’.
Not long afterwards, Bandung Bandawasa decided to marry Princess Roro
Jonggrang, the daughter of his victim. But she had no desire to marry the murderer of
her father, so she sought the advice of the Patih.
The Patih made a wise suggestion. Bandung would have to build a thousand
temples and two deep weels. If he managed to complete all this in the course of one
night, he could marry the princess. Bandung knew two people possessing magic powers
who promised to help him. one was his father, “Damarmaya”, and the other was
mighty King of Pengging. A date was fixed and in the evening, Bandung’s followers
began their giant construction job. Five hundred temples were completed by midnight.
Roro Jonggrang sent a man to watch the progress of Bandung’s work and by four
o’clock in the morning he saw that nine hundred and ninety five temples were already
built and to deep wells nearly finished. The whole palace was filled with sadness,
because the Princess would have to marry the man who had murdered her father.
Again the Patih had an idea. He woke up all the young girls and ordered them to
pond rice at once. When the workers heard the pounding of rice and smelt the flowers,
which were the signs of dawn they stopped their work. Bandung Bandawasa was glad
to see the temples before him and counted them himself. But to his surprise, there
were only 999 temples.
He soon learned the reason of his failure and became very angry. Roro
JOnggrang herself was changed into a statue, which stands in the great inner hall of the
largest temple and is now know as, “The Temple of Roro Jonggrang’.

A long time ago, there were two animals, Sura and Baya. Sura was the name of a shark
and Baya was a crocodile. They lived in a sea.

Once Sura and Baya were looking for some food. Suddenly, Baya saw a goat.

"No way! This is my lunch. You are greedy" said Sura. Then they fought for the goat.
After several hours, they were very tired.

Feeling tired of fighting, they lived in the different places. Sura lived in the water and
Baya lived in the land. The border was the beach, so they would never fight again.

One day, Sura went to the land and looked for some food in the river. He was very
hungry and there was not much food in the sea. Baya was very angry when he knew
that Sura broke the promise.

Apa itu Report Text?


Report Text merupakan salah satu jenis teks yang mengumumkan suatu hasil
penyelidikan atau mengumumkan sesuatu. Informasi yang dapat diberikan dalam teks
laporan yaitu suatu informasi yang sangat umum.
Setiap teks ini memiliki sebuah tujuan komunikatif. Komunikatif tujuan laporan
teks yaitu untuk dapat menyajikan informasi tentang sesuatu yang pada umumnya.
Report Text ini masuk dalam sebuah genre of text yang masuk pada kategori
descriptive, yang genre atau jenis teks yang berusaha untuk menggambarkan sesuatu
seperti benda, manusia, tumbuhan, hewan dan lain sebagainya yang masih sangat
umum.

Tujuan Report text


The Purpose of Narrative Text is to give information to the reader about
something. Tujuan komunikatif pada Report text yakni untuk dapat menggambarkan
tentang sesuatu secara apa adanya yang merupakan sebuah hasil observasi atau
penelitian dan analisa secara sistematis.

Generic Structure of Report Text


Narrative Text memiliki 2 susunan struktur seperti ini:
1. General Classification
Bagian ini berisi tentang berbagai informasi-informasi umum yang berdasarkan
pada sebuah hasil pengamatan yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya baik tentang
fenomena alam, hewan binatang, tumbuhan dan lain-lain.
2. Description
Bagian description pada sebuah report text ini memiliki fungsi yang sama pada
descriptive text yaitu untuk dapat mendeskripsikan lebih jauh untuk detail
berbagai hasil-hasil dari penelitian tersebut secara lebih terperinci.

Unsur kebahasaan dan ciri - Ciri Narrative Text


 Berisikan berbagai fakta-fakta ilmiah.
 Judulnya akan terlihat secara umum.
 Disertai sebuah gambar dan data statistik.
 Menggunakan suatu pola kalimat Simple Present Tense.

Coconuts
Coconut is a common name for the fruit of a tree in the palm family. It is
classified as Cocos Nucifera. People usually call the tree as coconut palm. Coconut palm
trees grow well in tropical countries. They grow especially on san soil.
The trees can grow up to 30 m high. They have a cylindrical trunk. At the top of
the trunk, there is a crown of leaves. The leaves are long, about 3 to 4,5 m long.
The fruit grows in clusters. In one cluster, there about 5 to 20 coconuts. The fruit
is oval and about 30 cm long. It has a thick husk and hard shell. Inside the shell there
white oily fresh. Inside the shell, there is also sweet fluid.
Coconut is high in sugar. It also contains a lot of fat, protein, and vitamin. The
young coconut water can be a very refreshing drink which contains a lot of minerals.

The coconut palm is very useful plants. People can use every single inch of the
tree. They dry the coconut meat into copra. After that, they can get oil from it and use
it for daily cooking or make it into soaps or candles. People also use the trunks to build
houses. For the roof, they dry the leaves. People can also make rope and doormats
from the coconut’s husk.
Coconuts are usually propagated by seeds. But experts have been trying to clone
coconuts or propagate them by tissue culture.

Pengertian Song (Lagu)


Song is a composition of tone or voice in sequence, combination and temporal
relation to produse a musical compositian that has unity and continuity.
Jadi, Lagu adalah gubahan seni nada atau suara dalam suatu urutan,
kombinasi, dan hubungan temporal (biasanya diiringi dengan alat musik) untuk
menghasilkan gubahan musik yang mengandung kesatuan dan kesinambungan.

Tujuan Song (Lagu)


Songs are used to express feeling and idea in an entertaining world. Songs can
be used to deliver social criticism. The moral values are hidden in the lyrics.
Lagu merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengekspresikan emosi dan perasaan
dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Lagu juga dapat menjadi media untuk
menyampaikan kritikan tentang situasi yang ada di masyarakat. Moral value atau
amanat biasanya tersirat dalam lirik yang dibuat penulis lagu.

Generic Structure of Song


Song memiliki 2 susunan struktur seperti ini:
1. Intro
yaitu bagian awal lagu, biasanya belum terdengar suara penyanyi (hanya
instrumennya saja)
2. Verse atau bait
adalah bagian pengantar ke chorus.
3. Refrain
peralihan dari verse ke chorus
4. Chorus
bagian inti, biasanya yang paling mudah diingat.
5. Bridge
penghubung chorus ke chorus selanjutnya ataupun ke coda.
6. Coda
penutup lagu.
Struktur tersebut tidak bersifat kaku, jadi tidak semua lagu memiliki struktur yang
tersusun seperti itu. Tapi setiap lagu secara umum pasti memiliki verse, chorus, dan
bridge.

Unsur kebahasaan dari Song (Lagu)
 Berisikan berbagai fakta-fakta ilmiah.
 Imagery.
Imagery describes about feelings and emotions.
Sebuah lagu biasanya berusaha menggambarkan perasaan yang dirasakan si
penulis.
 Rhythm.
Ritme disini digunakan untuk menciptakan mood. Misalnya, apabila kita
sedang bersedih dan mendengarkan lagu dengan ritme slow, maka kita akan
terbawa suasana dengan lagu tersebut.
 Figures of speech
1) Metaphor, comparing two things that are not alike to suggest that they
actually have something in common.
Sekilas memang kedua hal yang dibandingkan tidak berkaitan, tetapi
sebenarnya ada kesamaan antara dua hal tersebut.
Contoh: “Time is a thief” or “Her haisr was silk”
2) Simile, compares two things using “like” or “as’’.
Suatu hal digambarkan dengan hal yang mirip dengan menggunakan kata
‘like’ atau ‘as’.
Contoh: “My love is like a red rose”.
3) Hyperbole, a dramatic language. Big exaggeration, usually with humor.
Suatu hal digambarkan secara berlebihan, terkadang menggelitik karena
terlalu berlebihan.
Contoh: “That math homework took me 8 million years to finish”.
4) Personification, an object appear like a person.
Objek (bukan manusia) memiliki kemampuan seperti manusia.
Contoh: “The wind whisper” or “The snow flakes danced in the wind”.
5) Allititration, there petation of the same beginning sound in a series of
words.
Perulangan bunyi suara yang terdapat di awal setiap kata.
Contoh: “Peter Parker pick a pack of pants punctually”
