AKSIOLOGI NILAI ILMU

1 Latar Belakang

Aksiologi merupakan bagian ketiga dari kajian filsafat setelah ontologi dan
epistomologi. Jika dalam kajian entologi mempertanyakan tentang objek apa
yang akan ditelaah dan pada kajian epistomologi berkaitan dengan bagaimana
asal, sifat dan jenis pengetahuan, sedangkan aksiologi merupakan cabang
filsafat yang memepertanyakan bagaimana manusia menggunakan dan
memanfaatkan ilmunya.
Menurut Jujun S. Suriasumantri (2003:231) “Aksiologi merupakan cabang
filsafat yang membahas tentang nilai (value)”.
1 Pengertian Aksiologi
Istilah aksiologi dalam bahasa Inggris adalah axiology. Berasal
dari kata Yunani axios (layak, pantas), dan logos (ilmu, studi
mengenai). Dimensi aksiologis berarti ilmu atau teori. (Ihsan,
2010: 207). Aksiologi membahas mengenai hakikat nilai,
sehingga biasa disebut Filsafat Nilai. Dalam filsafat pembicaraan
aksiologi dilakukan untuk mengetahui batas arti, tipe, kriteria dan
status epistemologis dari nilai-nilai.
Nilai Kegunaan Ilmu

Dalam kamus besar bahasa Indonesia ilmu diartikan sebagai

pengetahuan tentang suatu bidang yang disusun secara
bersistem atau berhubungan menurut metode-metode
tertentu yang dapat digunakan untuk menerangkan gejala-
gejala tertentu pula.
