Sejarah ASPHALT MIXING
PLANT ( AMP )
Aspahlt mixing plant (AMP) merupakan seperangkat peralatan yang menghasilkan
produk berupa campuran asphalt panas. Produksi aspal panas/hotmix pertama
kali dilakukan secara manual, dengan cara memanaskan batuan atau pasir di atas
plat besi menggunakan batubara sebagai bahan bakar, selanjutnya aspal dituang
dan pekerja mengaduk-aduk secara manual. Penggunaan mixer, secara mekanis
pertama kali dilakukan di Paris pada tahun 1854, namun proses produksi saat itu
masih sangat sederhana dan terbatas untuk per batch-nya dapat menghabiskan
waktu 4 jam. Fasilitas produksi hotmix pertama yang memiliki komponen dasar
seperti saat ini dibangun oleh perusahaan Warren Brothers di East Cambridge
pada tahun 1910. Sistem pengumpan dingin diterapkan pada tahun 1920,
sedangkan vibrating screen dan injeksi tekanan digunakan pada tahun 1930 .

Asphalt Mixing Plant (AMP) adalah seperangkat
peralatan yang mempunyai fungsi untuk
memproduksi bahan pelapisan permukaan jalan
lentur yaitu campuran beraspal panas.

Dilihat dari mobilitasnya, pada umumnya Asphalt Mixing Plant (AMP) dibagi menjadi
dua jenis yaitu:

• (1) Asphalt Mixing Plant yang permanen, dengan beberapa jenis cara produksinya.

• (2) Asphalt Mixing Plant yang portable (mudah dipindah-pindah) dan dapat
dipasang di dekat lokasi proyek untuk menghasilkan campuran aspal.
Apabila ditinjau dari jenis cara memperoduksi campuran beraspal dan kelengkapannya,
ada beberapa jenis Asphalt Mixing Plant, yaitu:

Apabila ditinjau dari jenis cara memperoduksi campuran beraspal dan kelengkapannya,
ada beberapa jenis Asphalt Mixing Plant, yaitu:

• Asphalt Mixing Plant jenis batch plant ( jenis takaran).

Proses pencampuran campuran beraspal pada AMP jenis takaran dimulai dengan
penimbangan agregat, bahan pengisi (filler) bila diperlakukan dan aspal sesuai
komposisi yang telah ditentukan berdasarkan rencana campuran kerja (RCK) dan
dicampur pada pencampur (mixer/pugmill) dalam waktu tertentu. Pengaturan besarnya
bukaan pintu bin dingin dilakukan untuk menyesuaikan gradasi agregat dengan
rencana komposisi campuran, sehingga aliran material ke masing-masing bin pada bin
panas menjadi lancar dan berimbang.

• Asphalt Mixing Plant jenis drum mix (drum).

Pada AMP jenis pencampur drum, agregat panas langsung dicampur dengan aspal
panas di dalam drum pemanas atau di dalam silo pencampur diluar drum pemanas.
Penggabungan agregat dilakukan dengan cara mengatur bukaan pintu pada bin dingin
dan pemberian aspal ditentukan berdasarkan kecepatan penaliran dari pompa aspal.

• Waktu Siklus (CT) Waktu siklus produksi adalah rangkaian
aktivitas suatu pekerjaan dan operasi pemrosesan sampai
mencapai suatu tujuan atau hasil yang terus terjadi yang
berkaitan dengan pembuatan suatu produk (Balitbang PU,
2012).waktu siklus dapat dirumuskan sebagai berikut :

CT = LT + HT + DT + RT + ST (1)

 Keterangan :
• LT : Waktu muat atau loading time
• HT :Waktu angkut atau hauling time
• RT : Waktu kembali atau return time
• DT : Waktu pembongkaran atau dumping time
• ST : Waktu tunggu
 • (Kapasitas Produksi Alat) Dalam menentukan durasi suatu pekerjaan maka hal-hal yang perlu
diketahui volume perkerjaan dan produktivitas alat tersebut. Produktivitas adalah perbandingan antara
hasil yang dicapai (ouput) dengan seluruh sumber daya yang digunakan (input)(Rostiyanti, 2008).
Produktivitas alat tergantung pada kapasitas dan waktu siklus alat. Rumus dasar produktivitas
adalah : Produktivitas Q = Kapasitas V CT 2 Keterangan : Q : Produktivitas alat / kapasitas Produksi
alat (m3 /Jam) V : Kapasitas alat (m3 ) CT : Waktu Siklus (jam) Jika faktor efisiensi alat dimasukan
maka rumusnya akan menjadi : Produktivitas = V × 60 CT × Fa 3 Keterangan : Q : Produktivitas alat /
