Pengertian Shalawat dan Salam

Kata Shalawat bentuk jamak dari kata Shalaat artinya DOA

Shalawat merupakan Do’a umatnya yang ditujukan kepada Nabi
Muhammad SAW sebagai bukti rasa hormat dan cinta kepadanya.

Salam berarti SELAMAT. Yaitu mendo’akan dan memohonkan

keselamatan dan kesejahteraan dari segala hal yang buruk dan dari segala
bentuk kekurangan.

‫ٰٓي‬ ‫ِّۗي‬
‫ِاَّن َهّٰللا َو َم ِٕىَك َتٗه ُيَص ُّلْو َن َع َلى الَّنِب َاُّيَها‬
Shalawat dan 4

Salam ‫اَّلِذ ْيَن ٰا َم ُنْو ا َص ُّلْو ا َع َلْيِه َو َس ِّلُم ْو ا َتْس ِلْيًم ا‬

Sesungguhnya Allah dan para malaikat-Nya bersalawat untuk Nabi. Wahai orang-
orang yang beriman! Bersalawatlah kamu untuk Nabi dan ucapkanlah salam
dengan penuh penghormatan kepadanya. QS. Al-Ahzab: 56
