Sejarah Tumbuhan Penghasil Polen Dan Spora

Polen dan spora itu sendiri memiliki definisi, dimana polen atau serbuk sari adalah alat
perkembangbiakan jantan yang dihasilkan oleh tumbuhan Spermatophyta, baik yang berasal
dari tumbuhan Gymnospermae maupun Angiospermae, sedangkan spora biasanya
dihasilkan oleh tumbuhan non vaskuler seperti alga, jamur, lumut serta tumbuhan vaskuler
tingkat rendah yaitu tumbuhan lumut (Bryophyta) dan paku (Pteridophyta) (Buvat, 1989).

Polen dan spora dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi tanaman karena pada polen dan
spora terdapat lapisan eksin yang mempunyai struktur dan ornamentasi yang khas serta
dapat terawetkan karena mengandung senyawa sporopolenin yang resisten terhadap
kondisi lingkungan yang ekstrim. Eksin ini memberikan keistimewaan dalam studi palinologi,
sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi tumbuhan. Variasi morfologi polen dan
spora pada eksin juga bersifat spesifik untuk kelompok tumbuhan tertentu. Morfologi yang
khas ini dapat diidentifikasi, sehingga secara taksonomi diketahui tumbuhan penghasilnya

Faktor Iklim :
• Cahaya
Menurut Pollunin (1990), cahaya merupakan faktor yang penting dalam proses fotosintesis.
Intensitas cahaya menyebabkan variasi pada bentuk, perilaku dan anatomi. Kenampakan
yang dihasilkan adalah pemanjangan batang, percabangan, variasi warna bunga, bentuk,
serta kelembapan daun.
• Temperatur
Temperatur merupakan aukuran intensitas panas yang berpengaruh langsung terhadap
tanaman dalam proses fotosintesis, respirasi, permeabilitas membrane, absorbs air dan
garam mineral, transpirasi, aktivitas enzim dan koagulasi protein. Temperatur juga memiliki
pengaruh besar pada laju pertumbuhan, respirasi, fotosintesis dan penyerapan air dan
mineral. Tempertur juga merupakan salah satu faktor yang penting dalam menentukan
jumlah dan banyaknya macam tanaman yang mendiami suatu setting ekologi tertentu
(Loveless, 1983)

Lingkungan hidup sangat berpengaruh terhadapat proses pertumbuhan dan


perkembangan yang terdapat pada tumbuhan tersebut. Meliputi faktor iklim, kelembaban,
tanah, air, dan lain lain. Yang dimana tiap faktor tersebut memiliki perannya masing-masing.
Faktor iklim dapat mempengaruhi proses fotosintesis, respirasi pertumbuhan dan
perkembangan tumbuhan tersebut. Tanah menjadi media penyimpanan air yang tidak dapat
dilepaskan dari perannya sebagai penyuplai hara tanaman, tanah juga merupakan tempat
hidup dan penunjang tumbuhan (Foth, 1994). Dan air merupakan faktor yang berpengaruh
terhadap pembentukan karbohidrat dan sebagai sarana pengangkutan makanan dan
mineral-mineral lainnya.
