 Candidiasis atau kandidiasis adalah infeksi jamur yang disebabkan
oleh jamur Candida albicans. Infeksi jamur ini biasanya terjadi di
kulit, mulut, dan organ intim. Jika tidak mendapatkan penanganan,
infeksi akibat jamur ini bisa menyebar ke bagian tubuh lain, seperti
usus, ginjal, jantung, dan otak.

Definisi dan nama penyakit

candida albicans
merupakan spesies fungi dari genus Aspergillus dan termasuk pada
divisi Ascomycota. A. fumigatus adalah salah satu spesies
Aspergillus yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit pada individu
yang menderita imunodefisiensi.

 Ciri – ciri umum candida albicans

● berbentuk bulat, lonjong atau bulat lonjong.

● Koloninya pada medium padat sedikit menimbul
dari permukaan medium,
● dengan permukaan halus, licin atau berlipat – lipat,
● berwarna putih kekuningan dan berbau ragi.
● Besar koloni bergantung pada umur.
● Pada tepi koloni dapat dilihat hifa semu sebagai
benang – benang halus yang masuk ke dalam medium.
 Struktur/ morfologi jamur

A. Candida albicans
Candida albicans secara mikroskopis berbentuk oval dengan ukuran 2 – 5 × 3 – 6 µm.
Biasanya dijumpai Clamidospora yang tidak ditemukan pada spesies Candida yang lain dan
merupakan pembeda pada spesies tersebut hanya Candida albicans yang mampu menghasilkan
Clamydospora yaitu spora yang dibentuk karena hifa, pada tempat-tempat tertentu
membesar,membulat, dan dinding menebal, letaknya di terminal lateral.

Spesies Candida albicans memiliki 2 jenis morfologi, yaitu bentuk seperti khamir dan
bentuk hifa.Selain itu, fenotipe atau penampakan mikroorganisme ini juga dapat berubah dari
warna putih dan rata menjadi kerut tidak beraturan, berbentuk bintang, lingkaran, bentuk seperti
topi dan tidak tembus cahaya.Jamur ini memiliki kemampuan untuk menempel pada sel inang dan
melakukan kolonisasi.
 B. Aspergillus Fumigatus

Gambaran mikroskopik dari Aspergillus fumigatus memiliki tangkai – tangkai panjang (conidiophores)
yang mendukung kepalan ya yang besar (vesicle). Di kepala ini terdapat spora yang membangkitkan sel hasil
dari rantai panjang spora. Jamur ini mampu tumbuh pada suhu 37 ° C/99 ° F (suhu tubuh normal manusia), dan
dapat tumbuh pada suhu sampai 50 ° C/122 ° F, dengan konidia bertahan hidup pada suhu 70 ° C/158 ° F-kondisi
itu pertemuan secara teratur dalam tumpukan kompos pemanasan sendiri. Pada rumput kering Aspergillus
fumigatus dapat tumbuh pada suhu di atas 50oC.
 Mekanisme pathogenesis

A. Candida albicans
Kemampuan C. albicans untuk menginfeksi beragam relung inang didukung oleh berbagai faktor virulensi
dan atribut kebugaran. Sejumlah atribut, seperti transisi morfologi antara bentuk sel dan hifa, ekspresi adhesins dan
invasins pada permukaan sel, thigmotropisme, pembentukan biofilm, peralihan fenotipik dan sekresi enzim
hidrolitik dianggap sebagai faktor virulensi. Selain itu, atribut kebugaran antara lain adaptasi cepat terhadap
fluktuasi pH lingkungan, fleksibilitas metabolisme, sistem penyerapan nutrisi yang kuat dan respon stres yang
kuat.

melalui ekspresi adhesins. Hubungan dengan sel inang memicu transisi sel-ke-hifa dan pertumbuhan melalui
thigmotropisme.
