Adalah text yang mendeskripsikan atau menggambarkan benda, orang, tempat tertentu.
Struktur teks [generic structure] : Identification & Description
Identification: untuk Menunjukkan benda, orang, atau tempat tertentu yang akan dideskripsikan.
Description: Berisi gambaran yang berupa bentuk, ukuran, warna, ciri-ciri lainnya yang
membedakannya dengan yang lain.
Di dalam Descriptive Text, Identification terletak di awal paragraf sedangkan Description berada
di paragraf selanjutnya dan bisa lebih dari 1 paragraf.
Lexico grammatical feature atau ciri bahasa dari Descriptive Text adalah seringnya menggunakan
kalimat the simple present tense khususnya dengan menggunakan "have/ has atau be [is, am,
are]". Selain itu juga dalam Descriptive Text terdapat banyak kata Adjective [kata sifat] yang
berfungsi untuk mendeskripsikan ciri fisik dari suatu benda.

B. Procedure text

Teks procedure bertujuan menerangkan bagaimana membuat/ melakukan sesuatu berdasarkan

serangkaian langkah/ kegiatan [steps].
Kata-kata first, after, then, finally digunakan untuk menceriterakan sebuah teks
procedure. First digunakan untuk memulai langkah-langkah sebuah teks procedure. Then/
after digunakan
untuk
menceriterakan
langkah-langkah
selama
pembuatan
procedure. Finally digunakan untuk mengakhiri sebuah teks procedure. Kata-kata tersebut
disebut temporal conjunction [kata penghubung temporal].
