Cendrawasih, burung surga

Di hutan lebat dari papua barat, hidup ada sekelompok burung berwarna cerah bulu. Burung-burung
yang umum dikenal ad "Cendrawasih".
 warna mereka sangat fantastis bahwa orang percaya bahwa mereka berasal dari paradise.people
berpikir bahwa tidak lain di bumi seperti memiliki warna berkilauan. di fach, hanya laki-laki memiliki
bulu ini colurful. burung laki-laki menampilkan bagian yang paling berwarna-warni bulu mereka untuk
menarik betina untuk kawin. mereka mencoba untuk menarik sebanyak mungkin betina sebelum akhir
musim kawin.
laki-laki ambil bagian dalam membuat sarang. Juga tidak mereka menetaskan telur ayam atau

dalam bahaya karena orang-orang dari tempat lain sudah mulai menggunakan bulu berwarna-warni
untuk membuat topi komersial.

Cendrawasih, the bird of paradise

In the dense forest of west papua , there lives a group of bird brightly coloured feather .the birds are
commonly known ad "cendrawasih".

their colours are so fantastic that people believe that they are from paradise.people think that
nothing else on the earth has such glittering colours . in fach ,only the males have these colurful
feather . the male bird display the most colourful part of their feather to attract females for mating .
they try to attract as many females as possible before the end of the mating season.

the males take no part in making a nest. Neither do they incubate the eggs nor rear the chicks. The
females build a nest of leaves in a tree. it is about four to ten metres above the ground. they
incubate two to four eggs for three weeks. by the time they leave the nest. the tail feathers of the
male chicks will have grown into a fantastic shape.

the natives of west papua have used this bird's feathers for their head decorations for many years.
this has never endangered the birds population. however, the birds populations is now in real
danger since people from other places have started to use the colourful feathers for commercial hat
making.
