1. PCR mendeteksi materi genetik virus tanpa membedakan virus hidup ataupun mati.
PCR detects viral genetic material (s) without distinguishing between live and dead viruses.
2. Hasil PCR tidak dapat dibandingkan antar alat dan gen yang berbeda.
PCR result cannot be compared across different instruments and genes.
3. Nilai CT untuk menetapkan hasil positif dan negatif sesuai dengan nilai ambang yang ditetapkan masing-masing kit.
The CT value for determining positive or negative results corresponds to the threshold value set by each kit.
4. Nilai CT ditentukan oleh beberapa faktor dan tidak dapat memastikan pasien infeksius atau tidak.
The CT value is determined by several factors and cannot be used to confirm whether a patient is infectious or not.
5. Hasil PCR negatif tidak selalu berarti pasien tidak terinfeksi oleh patogen, namun hanya menunjukan bahwa
material genetik patogen tidak ditemukan di dalam sampel.
A negative PCR result does not necessarily mean the patient is not infected by pathogen, but only shows that the pathogen
genetic material was not found in the sample.
6. Hasil PCR negatif tidak berarti pasien bebas dari COVID -19. Hasil negatif bisa disebabkan karena sedang dalam
masa inkubasi. Bila ada gejala seperti demam, batuk, pilek, sakit tenggorokan, sakit kepala, sebaiknya lakukan
pemeriksaan PCR kembali.
Negative PCR result doesn’t mean patient is safe from COVID-19. Negative result can happen due to incubation period. If there
are any symptoms such as: fever, cough, flu, sore throat and/or headache, it is recommended to repeat the PCR test.
