ANTAM Pomala
Kabupaten Kolaka Provinsi Sulawasi Tenggara.
butirannya lolos saringan No. 4 sehingga mendekati ukuran butiran agregat halus. Salah satu jenis campuran
ABSTRACT
Nickel slag is one type of waste obtained from the smelting of nickel ore PT. ANTAM Pomala, Kolaka,
Southeast Sulawesi. One type of nickel ore smelting is FeNI 4 nickel slag, in contrast to the previous type, FeNi 4
nickel slag has a smaller grain size where the grain size passes the No. sieve. 4 so that it is close to the grain size of
the fine aggregate. One type of road pavement mixture is CPHMA or Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton is asbuton
which is mixed hot and spread cold, the CPHMA pavement mixture requires constituent materials such as fine
aggregate to support the performance of the pavement layer construction to be able to withstand traffic loads. In
this study, nickel waste is used in the form of nickel slag FeNi 4 which has a grain size similar to normal fine
aggregate so that it has the potential to be used as a substitute for fine aggregate in road pavement mixtures. This
study aims to determine the effect of using FeNi 4 nickel slag on the marshall characteristics of the CPHMA
mixture. Determination of the variation of fine aggregate substitution content of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, to
the total weight of fine aggregate. The results showed that along with the addition of nickel slag substitution levels
of FeNi 4, namely 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, the marshall characteristics of the mixture decreased. If the use
of a small amount of nickel slag will result in the Marshall characteristics of the CPHMA mixture getting better and
vice versa. This is because the physical form of nickel slag is slightly different from that of fine aggregate where the
surface of nickel slag is smoother and slicker.
