contoh dari teks pengumuman. Dalam Bahasa
Inggris, pengumuman disebut sebagai
announcement.

Announcement atau pengumuman adalah pernyataan


yang berisikan informasi tentang peristiwa atau event
yang akan terjadi untuk diketahui masyarakat umum.
Announcement dibuat dengan tujuan untuk
mengumumkan suatu informasi penting yang harus
diketahui oleh orang banyak.

Every April 21 people in Indonesia commemorate the Karttini Day. It is


beautuful day for the woman because we celebrate the birth of great Orientation
lady RA KARTINI. Everyone knows who kartini is. She is our national
heroine and a great lady with the bright idea.

Kartini was born in 1879 April 21 in Mayong, Jepara. Her father was RMAA
Sosroningrat Wedana (Assistant of head Of Regency in Mayong) Her
mother Mangasirah was a girl from Teluk Awur Village in jepara as the
daughter of a noble family , she felt luck because she got more than the
ordinary people got. She got better education than other children.

In November 12, 1903 she married Adipati Djoyodiningrat, the head of


rembang regency. According to Javanese tradition Kartini had to follow Events
her husband.

Then, she moved to Rembang in September13, 1904 she gave a birth to


her son his name was Singgih, but after giving birth to a son, her
condition was getting worse and she finally passed away on September
17, 1904 on her 25 years old.

Now, Kartini has gone, but her spirit and dream will always be in our
heart. Nowadays Indonesian womaen progress os influenced by kartini's

The Youth Pledge on 28 October 1928 was a declaration made by young


Indonesian nationalists. This declaration was proclaimed in the Second Youth
Congress. There are three points covered in the declaration, which are one
motherland, one nation and one language.

The first Indonesia Youth Congress was held in 1926. It was held in Batavia, which was
the capital of the Dutch East Indies. In the first congress, there were no formal decisions
made but it promoted the idea of a united country

The second congress was held in October 1928. This


congress was held at three locations. The first session

Dutch started a military offensive
on 19 December 1948 to Indonesia as Score

19 December 1948, the Dutch army entered Jogjakarta, which was the temporary
capital of the republic. By the end of December, almost all cities in Sumatra and
Java were conquered by the Dutch. All ministers, president and vice president
were captured and exiled to Bangka Island. However, the republican military in
Jogjakarta and Surakarta refused to give up. They continued to wage a guerilla
war.

Hamengkubuwono IX, the sultan of Jogjakarta planned a major offensive against


the Dutch army in the city of Jogjakarta. The attack was aimed to show to the
world that the republic still existed and did not surrender under the Dutch.
General Sudirman, the leader of Indonesian army accepted the idea. In February,
Sultan held a meeting with Lieutenant Colonel Suharto in Jogjakarta. He was the
man who was appointed by Sudirman to lead the attack.

On 1 March 1949, at 6 am, the republican troops led by Suharto


launched the general offensive. The Dutch surprised and they were
not ready to face such massive attack. For 6 hours, Jogjakarta was
controlled by the Indonesia army.

The attack brought a huge success because the world finally knew
that the republic was still existed.

Task 3

On 10 November, Indonesia celebrates Hari Pahlawan or Heroes Day in remembrance of the Battle of Surabaya
which started on that very date in the year 1945.

The bloody battle took place because Indonesians refused to surrender their weaponry to British army. British
Army at that time was part of the Allied Forces. The defiant Bung Tomo is the well-known revolutionary leader
who played a very important role in this battle. It all started because of a misunderstanding between British
troops in Jakarta and those in Surabaya, under the command of Brigadier A.W.WS. Mallaby. Brigadier Mallaby
already had an agreement with Governor of East Java Mr. Surya. The agreement stated that British would not
ask Indonesian troops and militia to surrender their weapons. However, a British plane from Jakarta dropped
leaflets all over Surabaya. The leaflet told Indonesians to do otherwise on 27 October 1945. This action angered
the Indonesian troops and militia leaders because they felt betrayed.

On 30 October 1945, Brigadier Mallaby was killed as he was approaching the British troops’ post near Jembatan
Merah or Red Bridge, Surabaya. There were many reports about the death, but it was widely believed that the
Brigadier was murdered by Indonesian militia. Looking at this situation, Lieutenant General Sir Philip Christison
brought in reinforcements to siege the city.

In the early morning of 10 November 1945, British troops began to advance into Surabaya with cover from both
naval and air bombardment. Although the Indonesians defended the city heroically, the city was conquered
within 3 days and the whole battle lasted for 3 weeks. In total, between 6,000 and 16,000 Indonesians died while
casualties on the British side were about 600 to 2000.

Battle of Surabaya caused Indonesia to lose weaponry which hampered the country’s independence struggle.
However, the battle provoked Indonesian and international mass to rally for the country’s independence which
made this battle especially important for Indonesian national revolution.
