Kehidupan sehari-hari Serat kapuk merupakan
sangat sering bahan dasar yang
menggunakan serta berpotensial untuk
menghasilkan sampah membuat bioplastik,
plastik, di mana biasanya diiringi dengan

 TINJAUAN PUSTAKA
Bioplastik Selulosa Asetat
Bioplastik merupakan jenis plastik yang layak
dijadikan sebagai pengganti plastik
konvensional dengan memiliki kemampuan
yang lebih mudah hancur dan terurai akibat
aktivitas mikroorganisme.

Sifat dari tepung tapioka dapat larut dalam air
sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan
pengisi (filler) dan pengikat menjadi tekstur
yang plastis dan kompak untuk diaplikasikan
(Lestari, 2013).
Kitosan
kitosan adalah dalam pembuatan bioplastik yang
berperan sebagai zat aditif mengurangi kecepatan
serap air, meningkatkan sifat mekanik, dan
mengurangi kelembaban film (Saputro dan Ovita,
2017).

 Kesimpulan
1) Sorbitol mempengaruhi karakteristik bioplastik dengan terjadinya peningkatan persen elongasi dan penurunan modulus young,
selain itu kemampuan daya serap terhadap air menurun seiring bertambahnya konsentrasi sorbitol.

2) Konsentrasi kitosan yang semakin meningkat dapat mempengaruhi penurunan densitas, peningkatan daya serap terhadap air, nilai
kuat tarik dan persen elongasi yang semakin besar.

3) Rasio penggunaan pati dan selulosa asetat ditetapkan sebesar 1,5:1. Hal ini dikarenakan pada percobaan rasio lainnya
mempengaruhi fisik bioplastik yang dihasilkan mengalami kegagalan seperti tidak terbentuk film atau film yang dihasilkan lebih rapuh.
4) Sampel bioplastik masing-masing memiliki karakteristik berbeda, namun hasil terbaik untuk uji densitas pada konsentrasi sorbitol
30% dan kitosan 0,5 gram sebesar 0,9050 g/mL, daya serap air pada konsentrasi sorbitol 20% dan kitosan 1 gram sebesar 98,44%, kuat
tarik pada sorbitol 20% dan kitosan 0,5 gram sebesar 845,6897 Kpa, elongasi pada sorbitol 40% dan kitosan 1 gram sebesar 1,75%,
modulus young pada sorbitol 20% dan kitosan 0,5 gram sebesar 67655,17 Kpa, dan massa terdegradasi pada konsentrasi sorbitol 30%
serta kitosan 1 gram sebesar 81,28209%.

5) Hasil bioplastik yang terbaik adalah bioplastik dengan konsentrasi sorbitol 30% dan kitosan 0,5 gram dimana telah memenuhi
standar SNI untuk densitas sebesar 0,9411 g/mL, sedangkan daya serap air sebesar 60,06%, nilai kuat tarik yaitu 360,6618 kPa, elongasi
sebesar 1,25%, modulus young yakni 28852,94 kPa, dan terdegredasi sebesar 59,6080%. Selain itu, waktu terdegradasi tanpa ditimbun
tanah telah memenuhi standar SNI yaitu selama 45 hari.
