Stranger : “Do you know where the nearest post office is?”
(Apakah anda tahu dimana kantor pos terdekat?)
Maria : “Yes, I do.”

Stranger : “Is it too far to walk?”
(Apa terlalu jauh kalau jalan kaki?)
 Maria : “No, it isn’t. Just walk along this street. Turn right at the
intersection. You can see the post office on your left.”
(Tidak, tidak. Hanya brjalan di sepanjang jalan ini. Belok
kanan di perempatan. Anda dapat melihat kantor pos di
sebelah kiri anda)
Stranger : “How far is it from the intersection?”

Maria : “It is only 200 meters.”

Sari : “Okay. From here, walk across the street and take a bus number 15.”
(Oke. Dari sini, berjalanlah ke seberang jalan dan naik bus nomor 15)
Antoni : “Then what?”
(Lalu apa?)
Sari : “Then get off in front of Horizon hotel.”
(Kmudian turun di holek Horizon depan)
 Antoni : “Then?”
(Kemudian?)
Sari : “Then cross the street and take another bus number 20 and get off
at the intrsection of Jl. Murni and Jl. Suci.”

(Lalu seberangi jalan dan naik bus lagi nomor 20 dan turun di
perempatan Jl. Murni dan Jl. Suci)

Antoni : “So, where is your house?”

(Jadi, di mana rumahmu?)
Sari : “From the intersection, walk along Jl. Suci for about 300 meters.
My house is on the lefthand side opposite a computer college.”
(Dari perempatan, jalan di sepanjang Jl. Suci sekitar 300 meter.
Rumah saya ada di sebelah kiri di seberang sebuah perguruan
tinggi komputer)
Antoni : “All right. Thank you.”

walk alone Jl. suci for about 300 meteran. On the lefthand side opposite
a computer collage.

(Berjalanlah menyeberang jalan dan naik bus nomor 15. Lalu turun di
depan hotel Horizon. Menyeberang jalan dan naik bus nomor 20 dan
turun di perempatan Jl Murni dan Jl Suci. Dari perempatan tersebut, jalan
kaki saja ke arah Jl. suci sekitar 300 meter. Di sebelah kiri seberang ada
sebuah toko komputer.)

sana? Tidak terlalu sulit jika Anda mengikuti arah saya. Setelah kau keluar dari
gedung ini, beloklah ke jalan. Lalu naik angkutan umum nomor 20. Belok kanan di
persimpangan Jl. Medan dan Jl. Palembang. Kemudian, menyeberanglah di

EXERCISE 3 (Latihan 3)

What do you think the people here say?

(Menurut Anda, apa yang dikatakan orang-orang di sini?)

I think a foreigner asked where the indo bank was. The person gave instructions to
go straight, if there is an intersection, turn left and go straight, if there are 2 turns to
the right, choose the second turn, approximately 500 meters away, you will arrive,
the bank is located in front of the police station.

(Saya pikir seorang asing bertanya di mana bank indo berada. Orang itu memberi
instruksi untuk lurus, jika ada persimpangan, belok kiri dan lurus, jika ada 2 belokan

should look at the map on the next page.

Ask your friends how to get to their houses on foot or by public transport. Ask also
where the most important public places in your city are and ask how to get to these
places. For example:

(Tanyakan pada teman anda bagaimana menuju ke rumah mereka dengan berjalan
kaki atau dengan transportasi umum. Tanyakan juga di mana tempat umum
terpenting di kota anda dan tanyakan bagaimana menuju ke tempat- tempat tersebut.

your left.”

Setiabudi dan jalan Gerlong. Turun di pertigaan, lalu naik angkutan umum
lagi yang mnuju kebon kelapa. Turun di gereja di Jl. Merdeka. Menyusuri
jalan itu. Maka anda akan menemukan rumah saya di sebelah kiri anda)
