1. Dasar Pemilihan Tempat PKL

Dengan adanya kerja praktik di PG Pagottan ini diharapkan dapat membantu mahasiswa
untuk mengetahui secara mendalam serta melihat keselarasan antara ilmu pengetahuan yang
diperoleh di bangku perkuliahan dengan aplikasi praktis yang ada dalam dunia industri gula
sehingga mampu menerapkan di dunia kerja dan mengetahui proses pengolahan dan
teknologi yang digunakan.
 2. Dasar Pemilihan Bidang yang Dipelajari

Utilitas merupakan sarana pendukung yang diperlukan industri untuk melakukan

suatu proses. Dengan kata lain, semua industri yang ada pasti memerlukan unit utilitas
untuk melaksanakan proses produksinya.

Unit utilitas dalam proses industri berfungsi sebagai unit yang menyediakan,
mengolah, dan mengoptimasi jenis-jenis utilitas yang dibutuhkan untuk memproses
suatu bahan menjadi produk. dengan mempelajari bagian utilitas yang menangani
berbagai macam peralatan.
 TUJUAN PRAKTIK KERJA LAPANGAN

1. Meningkatkan kepedulian dan partisipasi dunia usaha dalam memberikan kontribusinya dalam sistem
pendidikan nasional.

2. Terciptanya suatu hubungan yang sinergis, jelas, dan terarah antara dunia perguruan tinggi dengan dunia kerja
sebagai pengguna outputnya.

3. Membuka wawasan mahasiswa agar dapat mengetahui dan memahami proses pengolahan pembuatan gula dari
tebu hingga menjadi kristal gula yang ada di PG Pagottan.

4. Mengenal dan mempelajari peralatan – peralatan yang ada di pabrik gula Pagottan dalam proses pengolahan
meliputi performance, cara kerja, dan pengoprasiannya.
