Permasalahan hama pascapanen perlu mendapat perhatian serius karena sampai saat ini
penelitian-penelitian yang dilakukan belum dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan hama pascapanen
secara komprehensif. Penelitian biologi dan potensi biotik perlu dilakukan untuk memperkuat
pemahaman dan pengambilan keputusan dalam manajemen pengelolaan hama pascapanen
umumnya dan hama Sitophilus spp. khususnya. Tabel hidup merupakan bagian dari sejarah
hidup yang memuat berbagai informasi penting mengenai makluk hidup yang dapat digunakan
untuk memprediksi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan populasi suatu organisme di waktu yang
akan datang. Penyusunan tabel hidup bertujuan mengetahui laju kematian, harapan hidup, dan
kelulusan hidup S. oryzae dan S. zeamais.
Metode penelitian menggunakan metode observasional deskriptif dan substitusi.
Perhitungan didasarkan atas struktur umur atau stadia perkembangan dan mortalitas masing-
masing stadium perkembangan.
asil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ! "# $ngka laju kematian S. oryzae yaitu stadium
telur %,&, larva %,'&, pupa %,(), imago ",% dan S. zeamais yaitu telur %,(*, larva %,&+, pupa %,),,
imago ",%. )# -ilai harapan hidup untuk S. oryzae yaitu telur ",.', larva ",&), pupa ",'", imago
",% dan S. zeamais yaitu telur ",+%, larva ",'*, pupa ",&., imago ",%. Potensi berkembangbiak S.
oryzae dan S. zeamais memiliki kecendrungan meningkat karena nilai harapan hidup dari telur
sampai pupa lebih besar dari angka laju kematian. /atu ekor betina S. oryzae dapat
meluluskan0menghasilkan keturunan (),%+ ekor betina atau '*,*) ekor jantan dan betina pada
generasi berikutnya dan S. zeamais '',&" ekor betina atau ,*,.* ekor jantan dan betina pada
generasi berikutnya.
1erdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ! "# 2etahanan
hidup dan kemampuan hidup0kelulusan hidup S. oryzae dan S. zeamais, sangat besar karena
kedua spesies tersebut memiliki nilai kelulusan hidup lebih besar dari angka laju kematian, dan
nilai kelulusan hidup lebih besar ". )# 2emampuan0ketahanan hidup S. zeamais lebih tinggi dari
S. oryzae.

The problem in postharvest pests has to be taken seriously since the recent researches
were not comprehensively resolved the problem. The researches on biotic potenty and , life table
are re4uired in order to strengthen the knowledge and the decision making in postharvest pest
management, especially Sitophilus spp. 5ife table was a part of life history that consists of
inportant information about the living organism to be ussed for predicting population grouwtth
The aims of this reseach are to develop a life table of S. oryzae and S. zeamais on rice and corn
kernels. The method was used observational, descriptive, and substitution method. 6evelopping
of life table base on was to know the mortality, life e7pectancy, and the development ability of
S. oryzae dan S. zeamais.
8esults showed that mortality inde7 of S. oryzae was %,& eggs, %,'& larvae, %,() pupae,
",% adults, and S. zeamais was %,(* eggs, %,&+ larvae, %,), pupae, ",% adults. 5ife e7pectancy
inde7 of /. ory9ae was "..' eggs, ".&) larvae, ".'" pupae, and ".% for adults, and S. zeamais was
".+% eggs, ".'* larvae, ".&. pupae, and ".% for adults. One female of S. oryzae has the ability to
give rise ().'. females or '+.'* males and females of the ne7t generation, and S. zeamais &'.('
females or +%.&" males and females.
1ased on the results and the discussion, it can be concluded that: ;"# /urvivalship and
development ability of S. oryzae and S. zeamais were very high because the life e7pectancy
inde7 bigger than mortalities inde7 and the life e7pectancy inde7 bigger than one: ;)# 5ife
ability of S. zeamais was higher than that of S. oryzae.
