ABSTRAK

Kajian ini meneroka kefahaman dan persepsi guru tentang Kajian Pengajaran sebagai
Pembangunan Profesionalisme Berterusan. Selain itu, kajian turut meneroka kaedah
guru membuat perancangan, pelaksanaan dan penilaian melalui pendekatan kajian
pengajaran untuk penambahbaikan amalan pembelajaran dan pemudahcaraan mata
pelajaran Bahasa Melayu. Kajian ini menggabungkan konsep dan prinsip dalam Teori
Konstruktivisme, Kajian Pengajaran, Model Slavin, Model Glaser, serta Model
Standard Guru Malaysia. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kes kualitatif yang melibatkan
dua belas guru Bahasa Melayu daripada enam buah sekolah menengah di Sarawak.
Peserta kajian dipilih secara pensampelan bertujuan. Data diperoleh melalui temu
bual, pemerhatian dan analisis dokumen. Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada protokol
temu bual, senarai semak pemerhatian, dan senarai semak analisis dokumen. Secara
keseluruhan, kajian ini telah menjalankan pemerhatian terhadap pelaksanaan kitaran
KP sebanyak 120 kali. Proses pengumpulan data mengambil masa lebih kurang
sembilan bulan. Kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan data kajian dinilai melalui proses
kajian rintis, triangulasi data, pengesahan peserta kajian, penilaian rakan, jejak audit,
catatan nota lapangan serta berasaskan nilai indeks persetujuan Cohen Kappa oleh tiga
panel pakar, iaitu 0.89. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan perisian Atlas.ti versi
7.5.16 secara koding terbuka dan dipersembahkan dalam bentuk naratif. Hasil analisis
mendapati kajian pengajaran memberi penambahbaikan dalam aspek menulis dan
mengaplikasikan RPH, strategi pelaksanaan aktiviti, serta strategi pentaksiran dan
penilaian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu. Seterusnya, pendekatan kajian
pengajaran turut memantapkan pengetahuan pedagogi dan kandungan, peningkatan
kualiti perkongsian ilmu, pembudayaan amalan kolaboratif, serta peningkatan
profesionalisme guru. Dapatan kajian didapati memberi implikasi terhadap
perkembangan ilmu dan teori, serta institusi bahasa. Sumbangan kajian juga memberi
nilai tambah kepada penggubal dasar, sorotan literatur serta amalan dalam PdPc mata
pelajaran Bahasa Melayu. Akhir sekali, dapatan kajian mencadangkan dua model
pengajaran, iaitu Model Kajian Pembelajaran dan Pemudahcaraan, serta Model
Pembelajaran dan Pemudahcaraan Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Melayu. Model tersebut
dicadangkan sebagai panduan untuk penambahbaikan amalan pengajaran guru dan
hasil pembelajaran murid.
TEACHING AND FACILITATING OF MALAY LANGUAGE SUBJECT
THROUGH LESSON STUDY APPROACH

ABSTRACT

This study explores the knowledge and perceptions of teachers on Lesson Study as a
Continuous Professional Development. In addition, the study also explored the
teacher's methods of planning, implementing and evaluating through the Lesson Study
approach for the enhancement of learning and facilitating practices of Malay language
subject. This study incorporates concepts and principles in Constructivism Theory,
Lesson Study, Model of Slavin, Model of Glaser, and Model of Malaysian Teacher
Standard. This study is a qualitative case study involving twelve Malay language
teachers from six secondary schools in Sarawak. The participants were selected by
purposive sampling. The research instrument consists of teacher interview protocols,
observation checklist, and document analysis checklist. Overall, this study has
conducted 120 observations and analyse 24 of participants’ daily lesson plan. The data
collection process takes about nine months. The validity and reliability of the research
data were evaluated through a pilot study, data triangulation, verification of study
participants, peer review, audit trail, field note and based on the Cohen Kappa consent
index by three expert panels, i.e. 0.89. The data were analysed using the version
7.5.16 Atlas.ti software in open coding and presented in narrative form. The result of
the analysis shows that the lesson study gives an improvement in writing and
application of daily lesson plan, activity implementation strategy, and the assessment
and evaluation strategy of the Malay language subjects. Furthermore, the lesson study
approach also strengthens pedagogy and content knowledge, enhances the quality of
knowledge sharing, collaborative practice culture, and enhances teachers'
professionalism. The findings have implications for the development of knowledge
and theories, as well as the language institutions. The contribution of the study was
found to provide added value to policy makers, literature review and practices in
learning and facilitating of Malay language subject. Finally, the findings suggested
two teaching models, namely the Study of Teaching and Facilitating Model, and as
well as the Malay Language Subject of Learning and Facilitating Model. The models
are intended as a guide for improving teachers’ teaching practices and students’
learning outcomes.
