This picture shows two round connectors on the back of a computer. One of the ~."
connectors is for a mouse and the other is for a keyboard. The connectors look exactly the
same. Below the connectors are two labels, a green mouse label and a red keyboard label,
but it is not clear into which of the connectors to plug the mouse or keyboard. See arrows.
Does the green mouse label go with the lower connector? Or with the upper connector? If
you guessed the lower connector goes with the greeri mouse label, you are wrong, but not
alone in making this error. There is a tendency to plug the mouse into the lower
connector! This may be because the lower connector is closer to the green mouse label.
Or it may be that the positions of the connectors are seen as a "mirror reflection" of the
positions of the corresponding label.

Answer all the questions
Question 1
The process of finding the largest number (ie., the maximum of a group of numbers) is nsed frequently in
computer applications. For example, a program that determines the winner of sales contest would input the
number of units sold by each salesperson. The salesperson that sells the most units wins the contest. Write
a program that input a series of 10 numbers using while loop structure (the first number must be inputted
outside the while loop whereas the rest is done inside the while loop), and determines and prints the largest
ofthe numbers [Hint: Your program should use three variables as follows]:
counter: A counter to count to 10 (i.e., to keep track of how many numbers have been input and to
determine when alII0 numbers have been processed)
number: The current number input to the program
largest: The largest number found so far

The goal of this project is to develop a consumer-lending expert system to guide the user
through the decision for making an automobile loan. The system asks the user a series of
questions that can, vary depending on the customer's situation. This includes the
customer's fmancial and employment record, past loan record, and the price of the
automobile. The system then provides a decision based on the answers to these
questions, using the bank's lending experience. The rules are based partly on policies set
by the organisation and partly on common lending practices.

The dagona tree, which is common in the dry regions of Africa, has an unusual
appearance. The fully-grown dagona is about twenty feet tall and has a thin trunk,
-
about 22 centimetres across. The trunk is bare for most of its height and the spiky
branches, which have many leaves, stand out from the top of the trunk, giving the
tree the appearance of a large brush stuck in the ground.
The dagona tree has many uses. In October it produces large, roUnd fruit with
yellow flesh inside which can be eaten raw or made into a refreshing drink. The
flesh can also be dried and made into flour. The outer skin of the fruit can be
used for making glue; first it is dried, then the skin is pounded and mixed with
water to make the glue. The bark of the tree is made up of fibres of great strength
which are used to make ropes. And the spiky branches can be hollowed out and
used as musical pipes.

a) Abstract
The objective ofthis study is to find out teachers' perceptions toward the use of
group discussion activities in an ESL Classroom.
For the purpose ofthis study, one instrument. has been designed for data collection.
There are 4 sections in this questionnaire which consist of 32 items. The
questionnaire was administered to 50 English teachers as respondents. Table and
percentage formula were used to represent the findings in the study.

"lnteUectw.tVCognitive Development"
According to Piaget theory, a child at the age of 12 and above can think in a more
abstract and complex way. This encourages "the development ofhigher-cognitive
skills such as ClassifiCation, analySis, synthesis, deduction and drawing of
inferences" (Hamacek, 1995, p. 39). Therefore, group discussion activities help to
develop students; intellectual development through the exchange ofideas and
discussmg different viewpoints which enrich thinking skills. In this study, the
researchetwill obtain teachers' opinions toward the use ofgroup discussion in
terms ofintellectual development ofstudents. -

t) Conclusions
Based on the .fiiu1ings obtained from the questionnaire, this study implies that group
discussion activities play an effective role in the teaching and learning ofEnglish
language in schools. Besides learning the language to communicate ideas in English
effectively, students also develop intellectually, socially and affectivelY. The use of
group discussion activity is one ofthe teaching strategies that brings about the
whole development ofa person.

A great deal of debate still occurs around what i$ best for a specific Child Ontegration or withdrawal; the

better professional education for most regular class teachers, many of whom are daunted by the challenges

The government policy is to encourage and support the integration of children with special needs into the
'educationsystem and provide them with the opportunity to grow and learn together with their non
handicapped peers. In the caSe of children with more severe needs, their Ioeational and social integration is
supported by eXtra-educational help offered by special or support teachers assigned to ordinary schools.
Prer.school heal1ngirnpaimd and autistic children are also partially integrated through their placement in
