STEPS EXPLANATION
1 Merencanakan type atau jenis dan jumlah alat pemadam api ringan
(APAR) yang akan digunakan sesuai Risk Control pada prosedur
HIRADC yang sudah dibuat.
Jenis alat pemadam api ringan dan kegunaannya:
a. Jenis cairan, untuk kayu kertas dan tekstil
b. Jenis busa, untuk penggunaan terbatas pada
kayu kertas dan tekstil
c. Jenis tepung kering, untuk kayu kertas, tekstil,
karet dan plastik.
d. Jenis gas (hydrocarbon berhalogen dsb), untuk
penggunaan terbatas pada sentral telepon, transformator yang tidak
berada diruang tertutup dan terdapat banyak personil.

Plan the type or number and number of small fire extinguishers to be

used according to Risk Control in the HIRADC procedure that has been
made.
Types of light fire extinguishers and their uses:
a. Fluid types, for paper wood and textiles
b. This type of foam, for use is limited to paper wood and textiles
c. Dry flour types, for paper wood, textiles, rubber and plastics.
d. d. Type of gas (halogenated hydrocarbons, etc.), for limited use
in telephone exchanges, transformers that are not in a closed
room and there are many personnel.
2 Mengidentifikasi tempat – tempat kerja yang perlu dipasang APAR.
Minimal 1 (satu) buah APAR harus tersedia :
a. Tempat penyimpanan bahan – bahan yang mudah terbakar.
b. Tempat pengelasan.
c. Di setiap tingkat / lantai gedung yang sedang dibangun, dimana
terdapat barang-barang atau alat-alat yang mudah terbakar.

Identify workplaces that fire extinguisher needs to install.

At least 1 (one) fire extinguisher must be available:
a. Storage area for combustible materials.
b. Welding place.
c. At every level / floor of the building under construction, where
there are flammable items or tools.
3 Memberikan pelatihan kepada petugas pemadam kebakaran di area
kerja cara penggunaan APAR sesuai dengan petunjuk dari pabrik
pembuat.

Provide training to firefighters in the work area on how to use fire

extinguisher in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
4 Menempatkan APAR pada lokasi yang mudah dijangkau oleh
pegawai/pekerja. Untuk tempat kerja yang berdebu dan berpartikel
logam, APAR harus diletakkan minimal pada jarak 15 m.

Placing fire extinguisher in a location that is easily accessible by

employees / workers. For workplaces that are dusty and metal particle,
fire extinguisher must be placed at a minimum distance of 15 m.

5 Setiap pegawai / pekerja harus mengetahui lokasi APAR yang terdekat

dan cara penggunaannya.

Every employee / worker must know the location of the nearest fire
extinguisher and how to use it.
6 Cara penggunaan APAR :
a. Tarik kunci pengaman
b. Berdiri pada jarak 2 – 3 m dari api
c. Arahkan penyembur pada pusat api
d. Tekan pemicu

How to use fire extinguisher

a. Pull the safety lock
b. Stand at a distance of 2-3 m from the fire
c. Point the thrower at the center of the fire
d. d. Press the trigger
7 Melakukan pemeriksaan visual APAR secara periodik untuk memastikan
APAR tetap penuh dan dalam kondisi siap pakai, bila ditemukan ada
APAR yang rusak harus segera segera diganti dan tabung yang sudah
berkurang isinya sesuai dial (alat petunjuk) yang terpasang di APAR
harus segera diisi ulang.

Conduct periodic visual inspection of fire extinguisher to ensure that fire

extinguisher remains full and in ready-to-use condition, if any defective
fire extinguisher is found, it must be replaced immediately and the tube
which has been reduced according to the dial (instructions) installed in
fire extinguisher must be refilled immediately.
8 APAR harus selalu dijaga dan dirawat dengan baik agar tetap berfungsi.

The fire extinguisher must always be maintained and cared for in order
to continue functioning.
9 Personil yang terlatih dan tahu cara menggunakan APAR harus selalu
siap di tempat selama jam kerja.

Personnel who are trained and know how to use fire extinguisher must
always be available onsite during working hours.
10 Alat pemadam kebakaran yang berisi chlorinated hydrocarbon atau
tetroclorida tidak boleh digunakan didalam ruangan atau di tempat yang
terbatas (confined space).

Fire extinguishers containing chlorinated hydrocarbons or tetroclorides

should not be used indoors or in confined spaces.
11 Tidak diperkenankan memindahkan APAR, kecuali sedang digunakan.

It is not permissible to move fire extinguisher unless it is being used.
