Ada beberapa ungkapan yang bisa di pergunakan untuk mengunkapkan atau

meminta ijin di bawah ini yang paling mudah dan sering digunakan ketika
meminta ijin menggunakan bahasa Inggris.
1.      May + I + V (1) / infinitive + Compliment ?
e.g. May I wash my hands? (Bolehkah saya mencuci tangan saya?)
2.      Do you mind if I + I + V (1) / infinitive + Compliment ?
e.g. Do you mind if I come late? (Apakah anda keberatan jika saya datang
terlambat?)

 Berikut ini ungkapan meminta ijin lainnya:

1.      Can I + I + V (1) / infinitive + Compliment ?
e.g. Can I go out, please? (Bolehkah saya pergi keluar?)
2.      Would you mind if I + V (1) / infinitive + Compliment ?
e.g. Would you mind if I asked you something? (Apakah Anda keberatan
jika saya menanyakan sesuatu?)
3.      Is it okay if I + V (1) / infinitive + Compliment ?
e.g. Is it okay if I sit here? (Bolehkah saya duduk disini?)
4.      Would it be all aright if I + V (1) / infinitive + Compliment ?
 e.g. Would it be all right if I borrowed your mobile Phone? (Apakah tidak
apa-apa jika saya meminjam ponsel Anda?)

Berikut ini adalah beberapa ungkapan yang dipakai untuk memberikan ijin
dalam kata lain adalah mengyetujui/memperbolehkan atau mengiyakan
ijinnya:
1.      Sure. (tentu)
2.      Alright. (baik)
3.      Of course. (tentu)
4.      Yes. (ya)
5.      Yes please do. (Ya silahkan lakukan)
6.      Sure, go ahead. (tentu silahkan)
7.      No problem. (tidak masalah)
8.      Please feel free. (silahkan)

Ijin bukan berarti semuanya diijinkan atau di perbolehkan ketika seseorang

meminta ijin, tetapi juga bisa kita tolak ijinnya dengan berbagai alasan yang
logis. Berikut ini adalah beberapa ungkapan yang dipakai untuk menolak ijin
seseorang.
·        No, please don’t. (Tidak, tolong jangan)
·        No, thanks.(Tidak terimakasih)
·        I’m sorry, but that’s not possible. (Maaf, tapi itu tidak diijinkan.)
·        I'm afraid, but you can't. (Saya khawatir, tapi kamu tidak diijinkan)
