Kompetensi Dasar:
3.2 Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi
transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta
informasi terkait maksud, tujuan, persetujuan melakukan suatu tindakan/kegiatan
sesuai dengan konteks penggunaanya.
4.2 Menyusun teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis sangat pendek dan sederhana
yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait maksud, tujuan,
persetujuan melakukan suatu tindakan/kegiatan, dengan memperhatikan fungsi
sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan yang benar dan sesuai konteks.

Materi:
Memuat materi pokok teks lisan dan tulis untuk mengucapkan
➢ To state the purpose or intention to do something.
(Unsur kebahasaan: to, in order to, so that)
➢ To agree or disagree with a suggestion or an idea.
(Ungkapan persetujuan: I agree, That’s a good idea, I don’t agree, I disagree, I don’t think
it’s a good idea, etc.)

Penjelasan Materi

Purpose/Intention (Tujuan)
Untuk menyatakan tujuan atau keinginan kita dapat menggunakan:
❖ In order to (supaya/agar) setelah frasa ini biasanya diikuti kata kerja (verb) atau be
untuk nominal sentence.
Contoh:
1. In order to be happy, we should live simply.
2. We can swim in order to have strong muscles

❖ So that (sehingga). Setelah frasa ini biasanya diikuti oleh subjek.

Contoh:
1. We should study hard so that we can pass the exams.
2. We have to do warming up before doing exercise so that we don’t get muscle injury.

❖ To (untuk/supaya) to biasanya diikuti verb atau be.

Contoh:
1. We should jog to have stronger lungs.
2. To be successful, we must work harder.
Contoh Dialog:
Dialogue 1
Sindi : What for do we need to eat various kinds of healthy food?
Zahra : To be healthy.

Dialogue 2
Fatimah : What should we sweep and mop the floors for?
Rizqi : In order to get rid of dirt.

Dialogue 3
Ali : What for do we have to wash our bath tub regularly?
Najma : So that There are no mosquitos in our house.

Dialogue 4
Lina : What happened with you, Tiara?
Tiara : I’ve got a toothace. It really hurts me a lot.
Lina : You should check it to the near dentist in order to get well soon.
Tiara : Ups, I’m sorry I don’t agree with you. I’m afraid that the dentist will pull out
my teeth using sharp things.
Lina : What about buying medicine.
Tiara : That’s a good idea.
Agreement & Disagreement
Sebelum kita mengidentifikasi ekspresi atau ungkapan ini, mari kita ketahui definisi dari
ungkapan tersebut:

Expressions of Agreement (Ungkapan Persetujuan) yaitu suatu ungkapan yang digunakan

untuk menyatakan setuju atau sependapat terhadapat saran, masukan dan pendapat orang lain.
Expressions of Disagreement (Ungkapan ketidaksetujuan) yaitu suatu ungkapan yang
digunakan untuk menyatakan tidak setuju atau tidak sependapat dengan saran dan pendapat
orang lain.

Contoh dialog

Dialogue 1

Lina : I don't feel well. I'm catching a cold.

Udin : You should go to the doctor.
Beni : I don't think that's a good idea. Just take a good rest and drink a lot of water,
Lina.
Siti : I agree with Udin. You should go to the doctor, Lina. You look very pale. I
think you need to take medicine.
Edo : I don't agree with you, Siti. Too much medicine is not good. Lina, just take a
rest, drink a lot of water, and eat only healthy food.
Dayu : I think the best to do is go home, Lina. Your mom and dad know better what
you should do.

Dialogue 2

Udin : I feel sleepy and bored. Let’s stop working for a while to get some fresh air
outside.
Dayu : I don’t think that’s a good idea. Let’s finish our text first, and then we’ll go out
and have bakso in Pak Man.
Beni : I agree with Dayu. Udin, please go back to work so that we can finish the text
before lunch.
Siti : Udin, to feel better, drink a big glass of water dan have a little exercise here.
Edo : You are right, Siti. We are too serious and we don’t care with our
health. Let’s drink and then have some exercises here.
Lina : I agree with Siti and Edo. Come on everybody. Stand up, and drink a lot of
water. Then come here to stretch up and have a little exercise for just two
minutes.
Udin : That’s a smart idea. Everybody, let’s stop working for a while to have some
exercises. You lead us, Lina!
