GOING FOR AN INTERVIEW
Make sure you know the time and the place of your interview and allow yourself enough
time. Find out about the firm and the job before you go. Look neat and tidy. If you can’t
get to the interview because of some emergency, let the employer know as soon as
possible and arrange another appointment. Work out in advance what you need to ask the
employer about the job itself, pay, hours, and prospect, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
There are several requirements when you apply for a job. The three most desirable
are skill, education, and personal qualifications. And almost all the companies always
demand these requirements from every applicant.
If you are applicant and want these a good position, you must have these job
requirements. You must have skill. It means you must have ability to do something
relevant to the job you will do. For example, you must be able to speak English, operate a
computer and other the machines.
You must have a good education. It means that you must have a wide knowledge
in something you do. You must be clever at appreciating your colleagues. And you must
also realize that all jabs you do are necessary for society.
You must have good personal qualifications. It means that you must have politely
towards everybody, always dress well, work in positive and friendly manner.
In short, if you want to get a better job, you must study hard and train yourself in order to
acquire the above requirements.

EXPRESSING WISHES AND IMAGINARY SITUATION
I. CONDITIONAL SENTENCES
There are three types of Conditional Sentences
1. Type 1 Real condition or probable condition
2. Type 2 Unreal condition or improbable condition
3. Type 3 Unreal condition past or impossible condition
Ex.
Type 1. I will buy a new car if I have a lot of money
Perhaps you will buy a new car when you have a lot of money
Type 2. We would not go to work if it were holiday
We will go to work because it is not holiday
Type 3. You wouldn’t have got into a trouble if you had taken my advice
You got into a trouble because you didn’t take my advice
Task 2 Change the if clause into unless from the sentences below
1. If he doesn’t pass the examination, his mother will be anggry with him.
2. If she didn’t tell me this information, I would ask my other friend about it.
3. They would have lost the way if they hadn’t known my address.
4. If she didn’t know my telephone number, she wouldn’t call me
5. His friends wouldn’t come to his party if he didn’t invite them
6. If the doctor didn’t operate him as soon as possible, he would pass away
7. If you didn’t prepare your lesson, you wouldn’t pass your examination

II. SUBJUNCTIVE
Subjunctive is sentence contructions used to express situation that contradict with the real
situation
1. Subjunctive with WISH
a. wish + simple past tense
ex. I wish you came to my party
Real fact : You don’t come to my party
I wish I were not late to school
In fact : I am late to school
b. wish + past perfect tense
ex. I wish I hadn’t decided to work in that company
Real fact : I decided to work in that company
I wish he hadn’t left her alone
Real fact : He left her alone
