KEGIATAN PEMBELAJARAN 3.1

Tujuan Pembelajaran
Setelah kegiatan pembelajaran 1 ini Kalian diharapkan mampu untuk:
1. mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks
interaksitransaksional terkait saran dan tawaran sesuai konteks
penggunaannya
2. mengidentifikasi berbagai ungkapan yang digunakan dalam meberikan saran
dantawaran
3. menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi
transaksional terkait saran dan tawaran sesuai konteks penggunaannya.
Uraian Materi
Pada kegiatan pembelajaran 1 ini kalian akan membaca dan mempelajari contoh-contoh
dialog memberikan saran dan tawaran beserta responnya. Ayo kita mulai kegiatan belajar
kita dengan memahami ungkapan memberikan saran dan tawaran yang ada dalam dialog.

Practice 1
Read the following dialogue between Sandra and Julia. You can also practice the
dialogue with your friends.

Dialogue 1

Sandra : Hi, Julia. Do you have a plan for the weekend?

Julia : No, I have no plan yet.


Sandra : Would you like to go to the beach?
Julia : I think it’s not a good idea. Why don’t we take a cooking class?
It could be fun.
Sandra : Cooking class? That sounds good.

Dialogue 2

Willy : You look confused. What’s the matter?


Harry : I haven’t finished my English project. It’s due tomorrow.
Willy : How if we do it together? Do you mind if I help you?
Harry : That sounds great. It would be very helpful. Thank you.

Setelah membaca dialog di atas, apakah kalian menemukan ungkapan-ungkapan yang


digunakan untuk memberikan saran dan tawaran? Berilah garis bawah pada ungkapan
saran dan tawaran yang kalian temukan.

Nah, sekarang ayo kita pahami makna dari kedua dialog tersebut terutama terkait fungsi
sosial dan struktur teks ungkapan memberikan saran dan tawaran. Untuk itu, coba

kebahasaan pada ungkapan-ungkapan memberikan saran dan tawaran.
Practice 3
Now we will discuss other phrases/expressions used for making suggestions and
offerswith the responses. Read the explanation carefully and note them down in
your note book.

Making Suggestions

To suggest means to introduce or to propose an idea or a plan for someone’s


consideration.
It can be in the form of a solution, advice, plan, and an idea. It can be accepted or refused.
Here are some common phrases used to make suggestions:

1. How about + subject + simple How about we have lunch at the

4. Why don’t + subject + simple verb Why don’t we take a walk to the park?

As you can see most of the expressions used for making suggestions are in question form.

Making Offers
To offer means that you would like to do or to give something for someone, to provide
product, service, etc. Offers can be in terms of money, food, friendship, solution, or a
bargain. It can be accepted or refused.

Here are some common phrases used to make offers. You can use modal verbs
such ascan, would, shall.

B. Uraian Materi
1. Sub Materi: Pengertian dan Struktur kalimat memberikan opini
Perhatikan percakapan antara 6 siswa dibawah ini. Bacalah dengan suara
dikeraskan agar kamu dapat berlatih membaca teks dengan intonasi dan
pengucapankata yang jelas.

Janitra : I like Harry Porter movies because the magic seems so real.
Fauzan : I don’t agree with you. Harry Porter movies are just overrated.

Kenzie : I like playing tag because it is so much fun.


Deana : I don’t like playing tag because people end up fighting.

Renda : In my opinion, the government should provide means of


sustenance for under privileged people instead of building tall
towers.

Perhatikan bahwa setiap siswa pada percakapan diatas menyampaikan


pendapat atau opininya masing- masing. Tahukah kamu, apa yang disebut
sebagai opini?

An opinion is the way you feel or think about something. Our opinion about
somethingor someone is based on our perspective. Whenever we give or express
our opinion, it is important to give reasoning or an example to support our
opinion.

Nah, dari deskripsi tentang opini diatas, dapat kita simpulkan bahwasanya opini
adalah pendapat seseorang yang didasari oleh perspekrif atau sudut pkalianngnya
masing-masing. Sangat dianjurkan untuk memberikan opini beserta alasan dan bukti
sebagai penguat atas opini yang diberikan.
Perhatikan struktur kalimat dari ekspresi menyampaikan opini berikut!

Tahukah kalian bahwa opini dapat terbagi menjadi tiga kategori, yaitu (1) opini
kuat, (2) sedang, dan (3) lemah. Mau tahu apa saja?
Seperti namanya, opini kuat merupakan opini yang memiliki argumen yang
kuat. Opini sedang ialah opini yang memiliki argumen tidak terlalu kuat
maupun lemah. Sementara itu, opini lemah merupakan opini yang memiliki
argumen kurang meyakinkan. Supaya lebih paham, perhatikan contoh di bawah
ini.
(1) Strong (kuat)

Personal Point of view atau opini/pendapat pribadi adalah opini yang didasari
oleh penilian pribadi seseorang sedangkan general point of view atau pendapat
umum adalah opini yang bersifat umum dan digunakan untuk menghindari
pendapat yang bersifat individual.
Kapan menggunakan jenis kalimat tersebut dapat kalian sesuaikan dengan
kebutuhan pada saat kalian menyampaikan Opini.
Nah, lanjut pada materi berikutnya adalah bagaiman cara memberikan respon
terhadap suatu opini, dapat kalian perhatikan dengan seksama contoh-contoh

Setelah mempelajari materi ajar diatas, Pilihlah salah satu emotikon berikut untuk
menunjukan sejauh mana pemahaman kalian terkait materi yang telah dipelajari.

dengan argumentasi dan bukti yang kuat. Namun satu hal yang perludiperhatikan adalah
penyampaian pada saat memberikan opini harus sopan, sesuai norma dan budaya Bangsa
Indonesia.
KEGIATAN PEMBELAJARAN 3.3

A. Tujuan Pembelajaran

Setelah mempelajari modul yang berjudul “Cordially Invited” terutama learning


activity 1 ini, Kalian akan mampu:
a. menganalisis fungsi sosial teks fungsional pendek terkait undangan resmi
(formal Invitation).
b. menganalisis struktur teks fungsional pendek terkait undangan resmi (formal
Invitation).
c. menganalisis unsur kebahasaan teks fungsional pendek terkait undangan resmi
(formal Invitation).
d. membedakan beberapa teks fungsional pendek terkait undangan resmi (form
Invitation).
e. menangkap makna undangan resmi (formal Invitation) terkait fungsi sosial,
struktur teks,dan unsur kebahasaan.

B. Uraian Materi

Pada kegiatan belajar 1 ini, Kalian akan membaca beberapa teks undangan
