An opinion is the way you feel or think about something. Our opinion about something
or someone is based on our perspective. Whenever we give or express our opinion, it is
important to give reasoning or an example to support our opinion.
Nah, dari deskripsi tentang opini diatas, dapat kita simpulkan bahwasanya opini
adalah pendapat seseorang yang didasari oleh perspekrif atau sudut pkalianngnya
masing-masing. Sangat dianjurkan untuk memberikan opini beserta alasan dan
bukti sebagai penguat atas opini yang diberikan.
Example:
Setelah mempelajari materi ajar diatas, Pilihlah salah satu emotikon berikut
untuk menunjukan sejauh mana pemahaman kalian terkait materi yang telah
dipelajari.

Tips Menyusun Dialogue
Adapun cara atau langkah-langkah dalam menyusun dialog yang sederhana,
diantaranya sebagaimana berikut ini:
Pertama-tama, menentukan tema tentang apa yang akan dibicarakan.
Lalu, menentukan tokoh yang ikut terlibat di dalam dialog tersebut.

Inggris, kalimat itu biasanya banyak didapati dalam teks analytical exposition. Nah,
untuk tahu pengertiannya dan bagaimana penggunaannya, langsung saja kita bahas di
bawah ini.
Dengan demikian, pengertian analytical Exposition bisa dipahami sebagai text yang
mencoba memberikan penjelasan secara komprehensif tentang suatu masalah
dengan menampilkan pendapat-pendapat pendukung secara hati-hati.
Tujuan utama analytical exposition text ini adalah, “to attempt to persuade the reader
to believe something by presenting one side of the argument.” Artinya mencoba
meyakinkan pembaca agar mempercayai sesuatu dengan memberikan satu sisi
pendapat saja.”
Teks ini termasuk dalam argumentative text karena menunjukkan suatu pendapat
(argumen) terhadap sesuatu. Fungsi sosialnya adalah untuk meyakinkan pembaca
bahwa topik yang dihadirkan adalah topik yang penting untuk dibahas.
Sudah jelas ya? Sekarang kita akan membahas bagian apa saja yang membentuk
analyctical exposition text. Berikut adalah struktur textnya:
1. Thesis
Pada bagian thesis ini, penulis harus memberitahu pembaca tentang topik
utama yang akan ditulisnya. Thesis biasanya bisa ditemukan di paragraf pertama
teks. Di bagian ini, pembaca juga bisa melihat mengapa penulis memberikan
pendapat terhadap hal yang menjadi topiknya.
2. Arguments
Di paragraf selanjutnya, kita bisa menemukan bagian arguments. Penulis akan
menuliskan pendapat untuk mendukung topik utama yang telah disampaikan
sebelumnya. Biasanya dalam analytical exposition terdapat lebih dari dua argumen.
Semakin banyak argumen yang ditampilkan, pembaca akan semakin percaya bahwa
topik yang dibahas adalah topik yang penting atau membutuhkan perhatian.
3. Reiteration/Conclusion
Bagian ini selalu terletak di akhir teks dan menjadi paragraf penutup
tulisan. Reiteration berisi penegasan kembali posisi dan pendapat penulis
terhadap topik utama.

songs work on our short-and-long term memory.
Secondly, songs in general also use simple conversational language, with a lot of
repetition, which is just what many learners look for sample text. The fact that they
are effective makes them many times more motivating than other text. Although
usually simple, some songs can be quite complex syntactically, lexically and
poetically, and can be analyzed in the same way as any other literary sample.
Furthermore, song can be appropriated by listener for their own purpose. Most pop
songs and probably many other types don’t have precise people, place or time

In addition, songs are relaxing. They provide variety and fun, and encourage harmony

There is no best way to deal with pests in agriculture. Pesticides which are commonly
used may cause many problems. I think combining different management operations
is the most effective way to control pests.
Firstly, the chemicals in the pesticides may build up as residues in the environment
and in the soil which absorbs the chemicals. This reduces the quality of farm product.
Secondly, pests can gradually become resistant to pesticides. This means that newer
and stronger ones have to be developed.
Lastly, some pesticides affect non target plants and animals such as fish and bees.
This affects the ecology and environment as well.
So, understanding of ecology of an area helps a lot in pest control. Pesticides should
be chosen and applied carefully so that they don’t affect the ecological balance and

region. Therefore, by buying local groceries we are helping reduce the amount of carbon

To improve comfort and cleanliness at our school, a number of dust bins should be
increased.
When we look at classrooms, school corridors and school yard, there are paper mineral
water cups, straws, and napkins here and there. The condition of uncleanliness and
discomfort really hinders learning and teaching environment. Litters thrown carelessly
cause disease, especially empty plastic cup or glasses. They can be filled out with water
coming from the rain. This can be placed for dengue mosquitoes to spread out.
Besides, these rubbish can deteriorate the scene. Well painted wall and green school yard

Anyway I notice that most of the students in our school have responsibilities for the school

School uniform is special clothes worn by all students of a particular school. The uniform
of a school may differ from others. Why should schools use uniforms? Below are some
reasons.
First of all, Notre Dame’s Department of Sociology produced a study in 1998 concerning
school uniforms. Their findings using 10th grade students showed that uniforms have no
direct effect on “substance abuse, behavioral problems or attendance.” It also claimed a

atau dalam bahasa Inggris biasa disebut Passive Voice. Bagaimana cara
menggunakan Passive Voice ini di dalam bahasa Inggris seperti yang telah dilakukan
oleh Kenzie dan kawannya?
Pada modul ini Anda akan diajak belajar tentang teks interaksi transaksional lisan
dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait
keadaan
/tindakan/ kegiatan/ kejadian tanpa perlu menyebutkan pelakunya (Passive Voice)
dalam teks ilmiah, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya. Setelahnya Anda akan
belajar menyusun teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan
tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait keadaan/tindakan/kegiatan/
kejadian tanpa perlu menyebutkan pelakunya (Passive Voice) dalam teks ilmiah,

B. Uraian Materi
1. Pengertian Passive Voice (Kalimat Pasif)
Passive Voice (Kalimat Pasif) adalah kalimat yang subjeknya dikenai suatu
perbuatan atau aktivitas.
Active Voice (kalimat aktif) adalah kalimat yang subjeknya aktif melakukan
kegiatan atau aktifitas. Maksudnya kalimat yang subjeknya melakukan
pekerjaan atau melakukan perbuatan.
Active :
Dad washes the car once a week. (Ayah mencuci mobil sekali seminggu)

Passive :
The car is washed by Dad once a week. (Mobil dicuci oleh ayah sekali
seminggu) S to be+V3 O
Terlihat kan perbedaannya? Hanya dibalik saja Subjek dan Objeknya loh. Subjek
pada kalimat aktif berubah menjadi Objek pada kalimat pasif, begitupun
sebaliknya.
Coba lihat-lihat lagi, ada perbedaan lainnya tidak ya? Yap betul, imbuhan dari
kata kerjanya berbeda. Untuk kata kerjanya hanya ditambahkan to be yang
sesuai dengan tensesnya dan kata kerja diubah menjadi verb 3.

Rumus Kalimat Pasif (Passive Voice) dan Cara Mengubah Kalimat Aktif menjadi
Kalimat Pasif
Di dalam Passive Voice, hal yang paling penting diperhatikan adalah rumus dasar
dari passive voice yaitu to be (was, were, is, am, are) + Verb 3 (Kata kerja
bentuk ke-3).
Lalu bagaimana cara mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif? Jangan
bingung ya. Oke supaya Anda tidak bingung, Anda bisa ikuti langkah-langkah

Bogor
Bogor is a City in northern Java Island, Indonesia. it is the part of West Java
Province. Together with Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, the City is
included in the Jabodetabek metropolitan area.
Bogor has been known as the ‘Rain City’ of Indonesia and ‘Buitenzorg City’. the
City stretches across 118,5 km2 areas. Bogor is World famous for its Bogor
Botanical Garden, a Conservation site for several plants and animals.
The City was Born in June 3rd 1482, when Padjadjaran Kingdom was existed
in West Java. You can see the city’s Landmarks such as Tugu Kujang, Prasasti Batu
Tulis, Cimahpar Integrated Conservation Offices, Telaga Cikeas, etc. Bogor City is
surrounded by several Mounts like Gunung Gede, and Gunung Halimun Salak.
2. Passive Voice in Explanation Text
The rocks are not moving but still pushing against each other. After several times,
the rocks will be broken due to all the pressure that’s built up. When those
rocks break, the earthquakes happen. This is horrible and we have to maintain our
Environment, so there will be no earthquakes happen.

Mobile Phone
A mobile phone (also known as a wireless phone, or cellular telephone) is a very
small portable radio telephone.
The mobile phone can be used to communicate over long distances without wires. It
works by communicating with a nearby base station (also called a "cell site") which
connects it to the main phone network. As the mobile phone moves around, if the
mobile phone gets too far away from the cell it is connected to, that cell sends a
message to another cell to tell the new cell to take over the call. This is called a
"hand off," and the call continues with the new cell the phone is connected to. The
hand-off is done so well and carefully that the user will usually never even know
that the call was transferred to another cell.
As mobile phones became more popular, they began to cost less money, and more
people could afford them. Monthly plans became available for rates as low as US$30
or US$40 a month. Cell phones have become so cheap to own that they have mostly
replaced pay phones and phone booths except for urban areas with many people.

Tsunami
The term of “tsunami” comes from the Japanese which means harbour ("tsu") and
wave ("nami"). A tsunami is a series of waves generated when water in a lake or the
sea is rapidly displaced on a massive scale.
A tsunami can be generated when the sea floor abruptly deforms and vertically
displaces the overlying water. Such large vertical movements of the earth's crust
can occur at plate boundaries. Subduction of earthquakes are particularly effective
in generating tsunamis, and occur where denser oceanic plates slip under
continental plates.
As the displaced water mass moves under the influence of gravity to regain its
equilibrium, it radiates across the ocean like ripples on a pond.
Tsunami always bring great damage. Most of the damage is caused by the huge
mass of water behind the initial wave front, as the height of the sea keeps rising fast
and floods powerfully into the coastal area.
