Notice/ Warning/ Caution dalam bahasa Indonesia berarti pemberitahuan/ peringatan/ larangan.

Pada dasarnya, Notice adalah salah satu jenis short functional text yang berisi sebuah informasi
singkat dan sederhana yang berbentuk tulisan atau simbol untuk memberikan intruksi atau
peringatan kepada publik, biasanya berbentuk rambu-rambu. Bentuk lain
dari Notice berupa warning dan caution.

Terdapat perbedaan antara caution dan warning, yang mana Caution ini memperingatkan

tentang sesuatu akan tetapi tingkatanya lebih rendah jika dibandingkan warning karena akibat
yang timbulkan tidak sefatal warning. Sedangkan warning berisi informasi tentang peringatan
yang ditunjukkan kepada orang banyak berhubungan dengan hal yang berbahaya. dampaknya
akan sangat fatal jika di langgar atau terjadi.
1. Tujuan
Ada beberapa tujuan dari Notice, yaitu:

 To give an instruction / to instruct people to….

 To give information / to inform people to….
 To give direction
 To advice/to suggest / to recommend people to….

2. Contoh Kalimat
a. Kalimat Perintah

 Keep the grass.

 Please check your bag before you leave this room.
 Turn off selullar phone.

b. Kalimat Larangan

 Don’t swim.
 Don’t smoke.
 Don’t disturb.

c. Berbentuk Rambu-rambu

 Turn Left.
 Stop.
 Turn right.
