Asia News Network (The Yomiuri Shimbun), SciTech. Japanese researchers have developed a robotic
system that can convey the sense of touch including temperature, hardness and texture from a robot to
human hand. The system was developed by Susumu Tachi, a special professor at Keiko University, and
his development staff.
The user wears a helmet with a monitor display, a vest and gloves that can receive the sense of touch’
of fabric and objects grasped by the robot. The vest transmits information about the wearer’s position and
posture, while the gloves recreate the sense of touch and temperature of the object.
When the user tries to touch and item displays on the monitor, the robot grasps the real item and
transmit data about its temperature and hardness.
As the robot has a number of sensors on its fingertips, the user can even feel the vibration of marbles in a
glass container and detect differences in the fee.

Surabaya police chief Sr. Comr. Rudi Setiawan said recently that the transaction was conducted in

Mecca is Islam’s holiest city, home to the Kaaba Shrine and the Grand Mosque. The city is known for
the annual Hajj pilgrimage, being one of the five pillars of Islam. In the 7th century, the Islamic Prophet,
Muhammad, proclaimed Islam in the city. The city played an important role in the early history of Islam
and now it is an important trading center. After 966, Mecca was led by local Sharif’s, until 1924, when it
came under the rule of the Saudis. In its modern period, Mecca has seen a great expansion in size

The Battle Of Surabaya
On 10 November, Indonesia celebrates Hari Pahlawan or Heroes Day in remembrance of the Battle of
Surabaya which started on that very date in the year 1945. The bloody battle took place because
Indonesians refused to surrender their weaponry to British army. British Army at that time was part of the
Allied Forces. The defiant Bung Tomo is the well-known revolutionary leader who played a very
important role in this battle.
It all started because of a misunderstanding between British troops in Jakarta and those in Surabaya, under
the command of Brigadier A.W.WS. Wallaby. Brigadier Mallaby already had an agreement with
Governor of East Java Mr. Surya. The agreement stated that British would not ask Indonesian troops and
militia to surrender their weapons.

However, a British plane from Jakarta dropped leaflets all over Surabaya. The leaflet told Indonesians to
do otherwise on 27 October 1945. This action angered the Indonesian troops and militia leaders because
they felt betrayed.
On 30 October 1945, Brigadier Mallaby was killed as he was approaching the British troops’ post near
Jembatan Merah or Red Bridge, Surabaya. There were many reports about the death, but it was widely
believed that the Brigadier was murdered by Indonesian militia. Looking at this

Maltreated by their stepmother, who was a witch, a little brother and sister fled into the woods. After
running for a while,

She was so beautiful and gentle that the king fell in love with her at once. He asked her to be his wife, and
his words caused the maiden to cry for joy. When one of her tears fell on the fawn, it changed back to her
brother once more. Their goodness and love had overcome the witch’s evil spell, and they lived safely and
happily with the king for ever after.

How to Insert Sim Card into a Cell phone

Cell phone is a modern communication device which connects one to the others by voice,
written message and data. However this device cannot work until the SIM card is inserted.
When inserting the SIM Card to cell phone, make sure that the cell phone has been
switched off and follow the direction below:
First of all, press the locking catch and slide the cover then lift it off the phone. After that,
push two catches in the opposite directions and remove the battery.
Next, slide the SIM card carefully into the slot and make sure that the golden connect arson are

Flooding is a disaster which commonly happens in large and densely populated cities. In
Indonesia, the floods hit Jakarta very often and cause many victims. Then, do you know the process
of how flood happens? Pay attention to the following explanation.
The process of natural flooding is preceded by rain which falls to the surface of the earth.
Then the rain water is absorbed by the ground surface and flows to the lower place. Once that
condition happens, evaporation and the water appear to the surface of the land. Flooding can be
disastrous for humans when floods happen in an area that people live because the water carries along
objects like houses, bridges, cars, furniture and even people.
On the other hand, the process of non-natural flooding is usually caused by bad habits of
humans who do not care about the environment, such as littering that can make water flow clogged.
This makes the water deposited in landfills which gradually becomes more common. When water
reservoirs can no longer hold water discharge, the water then overflows out the land and cause
flooding.
