Abstract - The existence of COVID-19 affects the learning system in schools, the implementation of
government policies in the emergency period of the spread of Covid-19 which leads to a distance
learning process from home. During this distance learning process it is very necessary to review the
extent to which students have readiness to do online learning, both students in villages and students in
cities (Dewi, 2020). The purpose of this research is to examine whether there are differences in online
learning readiness of students and students who are in the city and who are in the village. This
research is a quantitative research. Respondents of this difference study were selected using simple
random sampling technique. Collecting and collecting data from research respondents was carried
out by distributing surveys / questionnaires using e-forms and disseminating them online via social
media. The analysis technique used in this study is the Mann-Whitney test (nonparametric difference
test). Of the 190 research respondents the results obtained were z value = -0.802 with Asymp. Sig. (2-
tailed) of 0.422 is greater than> the probability value of 0.05. This shows that there is no difference
between online learning readiness of students / students in cities and students / students in villages.
This is explained by (Suni Astini, 2020) that students in cities and in villages have the skills to operate
the internet, operate computers and the like which means students / students have readiness for online
learning during the Covid-19 period.
