CHAPTER 3 :
CONDITIONAL SENTENCES
Conditional sentence adalah kalimat majemuk yang memiliki sebuah kondisi tentang imajinasi,
pengandaian, dan suatu hal yang belum pernah terjadi. Pengandaian yang diungkapkan ini bisa
saja terwujud atau tidak terwujud. Bentuk dari conditional sentence adalah if-clause + main
clause. if clause adalah klausa yang merupakan bagian dari pengandaian. main clause adalah
kalimat yang berisi konsekuensi dari kondisi pengandaian di awal kalimat. Selain itu formula
conditional sentence juga bisa dibalik menjadi main clause + if-clause.
1. TYPE 1 ( PLANNING )
DIgunakan untuk mengungkapkan ketika konsekuensi atau hasilnya memungkinkan untuk
terjadi di masa yang akan datang. Hal ini bisa terjadi karena masih realistis atau masuk akal
untuk kemungkinan pengandaian itu terjadi.
2. TYPE 2 ( IMPOSSIBLE)
digunakan untuk mengungkapkan ketika konsekuensi atau hasilnya bisa terwujud walaupun
kemungkinannya sangat kecil untuk hal itu terwujud. Second conditional sentence sangat cocok
digunakan untuk mengungkapkan mimpi dan angan-angan. Walaupun belum tentu bisa terjadi,
tapi bisa juga menjadi kenyataan.

Simile
a figure of speech comparing two unlike things that is often introduced by like or as.
Example : Beauty like a rose, Funny as clown
Methapor
a figure of speech in which a word or phrase literally denoting one kind of object or idea
is used in place of another to suggest a likeness or analogy between them. Example : Life
is rollercoaster
Hyperbole
a figure of speech in which an author or speaker purposely and obviously exaggerates to
an extreme. Example : Raining cats and dogs

Narrative text is a text contains about fantasy, fairy tales, or a true story has been exaggerated
