A. Tujuan Pembelajaran
Setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran, peserta didik (A) diharapkan dapat menyusun teks
deskriptif lisan dan tulis, pendek dan sederhana (B) terkait tempat wisata dan bangunan
bersejarah terkenal, dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur
kebahasaan (C) secara benar dan sesuai konteks (D).

C. Langkah-Langkah Pembelajaran
Kegiatan Pendahuluan (15 Menit)

 Membuka pelajaran dengan salam pembuka dan berdoa, memeriksa kehadiran


peserta didik sebagai sikap disiplin.
 Mengaitkan materi/tema/kegiatan pembelajaran yang akan dilakukan dengan
pengalaman peserta didik dengan materi/tema/kegiatan sebelumnya serta mengajukan
pertanyaan untuk mengingat dan menghubungkan dengan materi selanjutnya.
 Menyampaikan motivasi tentang apa yang dapat diperoleh (tujuan & manfaat)
dengan mempelajari materi: Descriptive Text.
 Menjelaskan hal-hal yang akan dipelajari, kompetensi yang akan dicapai, serta
metode belajar yang akan ditempuh,
Kegiatan Inti (90 Menit)

Kegiatan Literasi Peserta didik diberi motivasi dan panduan untuk melihat, mengamati,
membaca dan mengindentifikasi. Mereka diberi gambar dan bahan
bacaan terkait materi Descriptive Text: Tourism Sites.

Critical Thinking Guru memberikan kesempatan untuk mengidentifikasi sebanyak


mungkin hal yang belum dipahami, dimulai dari pertanyaan faktual
sampai ke pertanyaan yang bersifat hipotetik. Pertanyaan ini harus
tetap berkaitan dengan materi Descriptive Text: Tourism Sites.

Collaboration Secara bergantian, siswa mempelajari dan mendiskusikan mengenai


menyusun kalimat dengan melengkapi sebuah paragraph menjadi
sebuah Descriptive Text terkait topik Tourism Sites (Local) secara
lengkap.
Communication Guru menunjuk salah satu peserta didik untuk maju ke depan kelas
dengan semangat dan santun terkait Descriptive Text: Tourism Sites
yang sudah mereka buat
Creativity Peserta didik menyusun paragraph singkat mengenai tempat wisata
local yang ingin dikunjungi terkait Descriptive Text: Tourism Sites.
Peserta didik kemudian diberi kesempatan untuk menanyakan
kembali hal-hal yang belum dipahami.

Kegiatan Penutup (15 Menit)

 Guru dan peserta didik membuat rangkuman/simpulan pelajaran.tentang point-point


penting yang muncul dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang baru dilakukan.
 Guru memberikan evaluasi berkenaan dengan materi pembelajaran.
 Guru menutup pembelajaran dan mengingatkan siswa untuk mempelajari kembali
materi pembelajaran secara mandiri.
D. Penilaian Hasil Pembelajaran
 Penilaian Pengetahuann berupa tes tertulis pilihan ganda & tertulis uraian, tes lisan /
observasi terhadap diskusi tanya jawab dan percakapan serta penugasan
 Penilaian Keterampilan berupa penilaian unjuk kerja, penilaian proyek, penilaian
produk dan penilaian portofolio

Materi Pembelajaran
Descriptive Text

Descriptive text is a text that describes something. For example, describing people, animals,
place or an object in terms of shape, characteristics, number and so on. Descriptive text also
aims to explain, describe or reveal a person or an object.

Generic Structure of Descriptive Text


1. Identification
This section, located in the first paragraph, aims to identify an object to be described.
Identification serves to introduce the reader to the object that we are going to explain, before
we tell about the object in more detail in the next paragraph.
2. Description
This section, located in the second paragraph and so on, contains the characteristics inherent in
something that you have introduced to the reader in the first paragraph.

Language Feature of Descriptive Text


 Specific participant : has a certain object, is not common and unique (only one). for
example: Bandengan beach, my house, Borobudur temple, uncle Jim
 The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun, for example: a beautiful
beach, a handsome man, the famous place in jepara, etc.
 The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple present because it
tells the fact of the object described.
 Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk, cut, etc.
Example of Descriptive Text
Lembah Pelangi Waterfall

Lembah Pelangi Waterfall sounds unfamiliar for either local or foreign tourists. Lembah
Pelangi Waterfall is located in Sukamaju village, Ulubelu sub district, Tanggamus district,
Lampung province, Indonesia. The access to this place is quite difficult because Ulu Belu, sub
district is a remote area in Lampung with its hilly contours which make this tourist spot
eclusive.

Lembah Pelangi Waterfall has two levels where the waterfall on the second level has two
branches. The height of the first level waterfall is about 100 meters, while the second level
waterfall is about dozens of meters. The best enchantment of this waterfall is the rainbow
which appears between the valley and the waterfall as the name suggests. The soft flowing
gurgling waterfall sounds is like a chant of nature which can remove the tiredness of the long
trip to go there.Under the waterfall, there are several spots of warm water which can be an
interesting spot for bathing. In this place, you will be shown a panorama of natural beauty
which is very interesting for every pair of eyes seeing it. Rocky hills accompanied by leafy
trees will actually soothe both your eyes.

“We’re going to learn about Descriptive Text. So, After following the learning process, you
are expected to be able to write paragraph about Descriptive text correctly”

“Now, I want to share a material about Descriptive Text. Please take a look at the cartoon. Is it
seen, students?”

“Okay, descriptive text is…” (Teacher explains the material)

“Now, we move to the example.. Here is an example about tourism local sites in Indonesia.
Lembah Pelangi Waterfall.”

“Good Job, students. Is there any questions?”

“If there is no questions, you can look for others example about Descriptive Text for
improving your knowledge. You can do it by yourself or discussing with your friends here. I
will give you 5 minutes to explore more about Descriptive Text. Is it enough?”

“Time’s up. You have explore and listen my explanation about Descriptive Text. So far, is
everything clear?

“Great, students. Now, I want you to do an exercise based on what we have learn today. I
have a topic of tourism locat sites in this paper. In returns, I want you to make this sentence
into a paragraph of descriptive text. The topic is Kuta Beach. We will start from ______”

“Have you done, students? If you have done, please collect it.”

“Good Job. Is there any question about Descriptive text again?”

“Okay, students. By the end of the question and answer session, I hope you can understand
about the use of Descriptive text and like to read more about Descriptive text.”

“Next, I want you to make paragraphs about descriptive text. The topic is about any tourism
place that you want to go.”

“Have you finished, students?”
