C. Tujuan Pembelajaran

Melalui Problem Based learning, peserta didik diharapkan dapat:

1. Membandingkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan beberapa teks
prosedur.
2. Menemukan informasi terkait manual penggunaan teknologi teknologi dan kiat-kiat
(tips), pendek dan sederhana, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya.
3. Membuat teks prosedur dalam bentuk manual atau kiat-kiat (tips), pendek dan
sederhana, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya dengan memperhatikan fungsi
sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks tersebut.

D. Materi Pembelajaran

 Pengertian Procedure Text

Procedure text adalah sebuah teks bahasa Inggris yang memberikan instruksi atau arahan
dalam melakukan sesuatu dengan bentuk menyerupai arahan, resep, dan instruksi manual.

 Struktur Procedure Text

Struktur umum dari teks prosedur antara lain:

1. Aims/Goal (Tujuan)
Tujuan teks prosedur akan terdapat dari judulnya. Misalnya, untuk menjelaskan cara
membuat akun Google, tujuannya akan ditulis menjadi judul itu sendiri, contohnya
How to Create a Google Account
2. Daftar alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan
Hal-hal ini bisa berupa bahan-bahan atau alat yang dibutuhkan dalam membuat atau
menggunakan sesuatu. Misalnya untuk membuat akun Google, yang dibutuhkan
adalah akun Email, HP atau laptop, dan koneksi internet.
3. Urutan langkah-langkah / metode
Berisikan langkah atau tahapan dalam membuat, melakukan, atau mengoperasikan
sesuatu. Bagian ini biasanya ditulis secara berurutan (kronologis), dimulai dari
langkah awal hingga proses terakhir sampai akhirnya tujuan dari teks prosedur
tersebut tercapai.

 Fungsi Sosial Procedure Text

 Memudahkan pembaca untuk melakukan sesuatu dengan benar dengan menunjukkan
langkah-langkah bagaimana sesuatu tersebut dilakukan secara berurut/sistematis melalui
arahan/resep/instruksi manual.

 Language Features of Procedure Text

1. Menggunakan simple present tense
2. Mengandung kalimat perintah (imperative sentence)
3. Terdapat kata penghubung (conjunctive/connectives words)
4. Menggunakan kata keterangan (adverbs)

Bagi peserta didik yang telah mencapai target pembelajaran sebelum waktu yang telah
dialokasikan berakhir, perlu diberikan kegiatan pengayaan. Misalnya membaca materi
lain yang masih terkait dengan materi teks prosedur kemudian menemukan teks prosedur
item dari berbagai sumber dan menganalisis struktur dari teks tersebut dengan tepat.
2. Remedial
Bagi peserta didik yang belum mencapai target pembelajaran pada waktu yang telah
dialokasikan, perlu diberikan kegiatan remedial dengan menjelaskan kembali mengenai
materi yang belum dipahami lalu diakhir kegiatan siswa diminta untuk menganalisis teks
prosedur yang di berikan berdasarkan struktur, fungsi dan kaidah bahasa dari teks
tersebut.

C. Procedure Text

 Pengertian Procedure Text

Procedure text is a text that gives instructions or directions in doing something to create
something in the forms of directions or manual instruction.

 Struktur Procedure Text

General structure of procedure text are:
1. Aims/Goal
The aims/goal of a procedure text will be located on the title. For example, to explain
the way to create an account of Google, the purpose will be written on the title such as
How to Use Gojek.
2. Materials
These things can be materials or tools needed to make or use something. For example,
to create a Google account, all you need is an email account, cellphone or laptop, and
an internet connection.
3. A sequence of steps
It contains of steps/methods in creating, doing, or operating something. These steps
were written systematically, starting from the first to the last process until finally the
purpose of the procedural text is achieved.

Make it easier for the readers to do something right by showing the steps about how
something is done sequentially/systematically through directions or manual instructions.

 Language Features of Procedure Text

1. Contain of Simple Present Tense, because the contain of the sentences are facts
about the way to make or use something.
2. Has imperative sentences such us click the button. Insert your name, etc.
3. Using conjunctive/connectives words to connect one part or sentence to the other.
For example, firstly, secondly, then, after that, last, finally, before, after, next, etc.
4. Articles is a word that is used to indicate that a noun is a noun without describing it.
It consists of a, an, and the.

D. Manual and Tips or Tricks

Manual is a referenced documentand provides detailed information aboout operation and

maintanance of a product. Product must be read in sequence because the initial steps will
effect to another step. It is also usually called as a guide.
On the other hand, Tips or tricks is advice or method on how to do something better. In
conclusion, you can do all of the advices or methods from a tip or trick or just choose some of
them freely. It happens because there is no effect between each method or advice in a tip or
trick.

In this activity, the students will be made in some groups to create a procedure text (manual
or tips/trick) related to technology. There are some rules and guide of creating a product of
procedure text, which are:
- Choose the topic and the kinds (manual or tips) of your procedure text. Below here are
some aspects which can be choosen as a topic in your procedure text, such as:
a) Technology in the field of information for example websites, radio, television, etc.
b) Technology in the field of communication for example e-mail, smartphone, etc
c) Artificial Intelligence for example Google, Social Media (Instagram, Facebook,
Twitter, etc.)
d) Music and movie services such as Netflix, Spotify, etc
e) Online Game such as PUBG, Mobile Legend, dll
f) Mobile banking such as BCA mobile, Mandiri mobile, dll
- Create at least 6 steps in your procedure text.
- Check regularly the language feateres such as tenses, adverb, conjunctive, etc.
- Write and design/draw/prepare some pictures that can complete your procedure text on
the paper that will be given by the teacher.
- After that, present your product in front of the classroom. Students from the other groups
can give some feedback on it.
- Finally, display your works on your class.
