• Kimia Analisis : ilmu kimia yang mendasari
analisis dan pemisahan sampel
• Kimia Analisis dalam kefarmasian : bagian dari
ilmu kimia yang mempelajari dan melibatkan
penggunaan sejumlah teknik dan metode untuk
memperoleh aspek kualitatif, kuantitatif, dan
informasi struktur dari suatu senyawa obat
pada khususnya dan bahan kimia pada
umumnya.

 Kualitatif
 Analisis Kualitatif berkaitan dengan identifikasi zat-zat kimia,
baik unsur atau senyawa dalam suatu sampel. Metode analisis
kualitatif dapat dilakukan dengan cara konvensional sampai
menggunakan instrumentasi khusus.
 Metode analisis kualitatif konvensional sering digunakan untuk
analisis senyawa-senyawa anorganik. Analisis senyawa organik
dengan berat molekul besar seperti senyawaan biokimia harus
dilakukan dengan instrumentasi khusus dan metode yang lebih
kompleks. 
 Kuantitatif
 Analisis Kuantitatif berkaitan dengan jumlah atau kadar suatu
zat kimia dalam sampel. Metode Analisis Kuantitatif sedikit
lebih rumit daripada metode analisis kualitatif karena
menyangkut ketepatan dan ketelitian tinggi.
 Kesalahan pengamatan data menyebabkan kesalahan ketepatan
dan ketelitian sehingga pengambilan kesimpulan tentang kadar
suatu zat dalam sampel tidak akurat
Berdasarkan jumlah sampel, metode
analisis dapat dibagi menjadi :

 makro;berat sampel lebih dari 0,1 gram,

 semimikro;berat sampel 0,01-0,1 gram,
 mikro;berat sampel 0,001-0,01 gram dan
 ultramikro;berat sampel kurang dari
1 mikrogram.

Jumlah sampel yang akan ditentukan

Merupakan faktor penting dalam
analisis kuantitatif.
