Prevalence
Latar Belakang :
The world population is approaching 7200 million, with more than
three quarters of this total living in the developing countries.
The number of cancer deaths worldwide has been calculated to be
approximately 8 million each year, and an estimated 7.05 million new
cases of cancer occurred in 2012, corresponding to an overall
incidence rate of 182 per 100 000 per year

Incidence
Incidence rates were estimated for four regions:
1. Java, Sulawesi and Nusa Tenggara: simple mean of Singapore (Malay) and Penang (Malay). All sites but skin rates (2003-
2007) were partitioned using sex, site and agespecific proportions obtained from the Jakarta cancer registry
(2005-2007)
2. Sumatra: simple mean of Singapore (Malay) and Penang (Malay) rates (2003-2007)
3. Kalimantan: Malaysia, Sarawak rates (1998-2002)
4. Maluku and Papua: Australia, Northern Territory: Indigenous (2003-2007) rates
The national incidence rates are the population weighted average of the rates (70%, 21%, 6%, and 3%).
Mortality
Estimated national cancer incidence for 2012 and modelled survival.
