Al-Qur’an merupakan pedoman hidup bagi umat Islam. Upaya Pondok
Pesantren Modern untuk meminimalisir degradasi iman Santri akibat dampak
negatif kemajuan IPTEK pada pendidikan di Pondok Pesantren Modern perlu
diadakannya progam yang dapat meningkatkan karakter religius santrinya.
Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Mukhtar Watukebo adalah pesantren yang yang
memiliki progam unggulan Tahfidz Al-Qur’an yang mana dengan menghafal ayat
dan maknanya, karakter yang baik dapat di aplikasikan pada kehidupan sehari-
hari. Karakter religius santri dapat meningkat dengan baik apabila melibatkan
peranan dari keluarga, lembaga pendidikan, dan lingkungan pergaulan.
Fokus penelitian ini yaitu : 1) Bagaimana program tahfidz Al-Qur’an dapat
membentuk karakter religius santri di pondok pesantren modern Al-Mukhtar
Ambulu? dan 2) Aspek apa saja yang berhubungan dengan pembentukan karakter
religius santri di Pondok Pesantren Al-Mukhtar Ambulu?
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian
studi kasus. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi,
wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subyek penelitian dipilih secara purposive. Analisis
data menggunakan analisis interaktif Miles, Huberman dan Saldana yang terdiri
dari empat langkah yaitu koleksi data, kondensasi, penyajian data, dan verifikasi.
Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan metode.
Hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa:

Al-Qur'an is a way of life for Muslims. The efforts of Modern Islamic Boarding
Schools to minimize the degradation of Santri's faith due to the negative impact of
science and technology progress on education at Modern Islamic Boarding Schools need
to hold programs that can improve the religious character of their students. Al-Mukhtar
Watukebo Modern Islamic Boarding School is a boarding school that has the flagship
Tahfidz Al-Qur'an program where by memorizing verses and their meanings, good
character can be applied to everyday life. The religious character of the santri can
improve well if it involves the role of the family, educational institutions and the social
environment.
The focus of this research is: 1) How can the tahfidz Al-Qur'an program building
the religious character of students at the Al-Mukhtar modern Islamic boarding school?
and 2) What the aspects are related to the building the religious character of the students
at Al-Mukhtar Islamic Boarding School?
This research uses a qualitative approach with case study. The techniques used in
this study are observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects were
selected purposively. Data analysis used interactive analysis by Miles, Huberman and
Saldana which consisted of four steps, namely data collection, condensation, data display,
and verification. The validity of the data using source and method triangulation.
