TEKS RECOUNT

A. Pengertian Teks Recount :

Teks recount adalah teks yang berfungsi untuk menceritakan kembali

kejadian atau pengalaman yang terjadi di masa lalu. Teks ini
bertujuan untuk menghibur dan memberikan informasi kepada
pembaca.

B. Struktur Recount Text (Generic Structure of Recount Text )

1) Orientation

Orientasi atau pengenalan, orientation berisi informasi mengenai

tokoh atau karakter dalam cerita, lokasi kejadian cerita dan waktu
terjadinya cerita.

2) Series of Events

Avent adalah kejadian, sedangkan series berarti rangkaian. Dalam

bagian ini, penulis akan menuliskan rangkaian mengenai
peristiwa/kejadian yang mereka alami (inti dari recount text).

3) Reorientation

Reorientation adalah akhir dari sebuah cerita. Pada bagian ini,

penulis akan menuangkan rangkuman dan kesimpulan dari
keseluruhan cerita sekaligus memberitahu ending-nya
(sad/happy). Jika ada, author juga akan menambahkan kesan dan
pesan untuk pembaca.  

C. Ciri-ciri Recount Text (Characteristics of Recount Text)

1) Memakai struktur kalimat past tense. Contoh: I bought that book

last week. It was a great book.
2) Memakai action verbs. Contoh : bought, brought, went, spent,
took, etc.
3) Memakai adverb serta adverbial phrase untuk menerangkan
waktu, tempat dan cara. Contoh: last week, in Bogor, lately, etc.
4) Fokus pada objek tertentu.
 5) Memakai conjunction serta time connectives untuk menjelaskan
urutan kejadian atau waktu. Contoh: then, after that, and, on
Monday, etc.

D. Macam-Macam Recount Text (Types of Recount Text)

1. Personal Recount

Personal recount text adalah salah satu jenis teks yang bertujuan

untuk menceritakan mengenai pengalaman pribadi
penulis. Personal recount adalah jenis paling umum yang sering
ditemukan dalam penulisan recount.

2. Factual Recount

Factual recount text merupakan cerita untuk menyajikan

laporan terkait peristiwa yang terjadi berdasarkan fakta (benar-
benar terjadi).

3. Imaginative Recount

Imaginative recount adalah teks yang biasa digunakan seseorang

sebagai cerita dari peristiwa imajinatif yang dialami oleh
seseorang. 

4. Historical Recount

Historical recount adalah bentuk  recount text  yang isinya

menceritakan peristiwa sejarah. Intinya, teks ini adalah cerita
sejarah dalam bahasa Inggris. 

E. Contoh Teks Recount

Contoh 1 :

3 months ago, on January the 14th, I had the best experience I've
ever had while in junior high school, for the first time I won a story
telling competition at the district level.

Starting during the class meeting, I was sitting watching the

competition that was taking place, suddenly my Indonesian teacher,
Mrs. Yas called me, I was confused, and it turned out that Mrs. Yas asked
 me to take part in the selection so I could take part in the story telling
competition at the junior high school level. I enthusiastically agreed and
started to prepare myself. A few days later, Mrs. Yas called me to the
school library, it turned out that Mrs. Yas was going to select me and
one other girl of her choice. After finishing, Mrs. Yas said that he would
announce which of the students had passed the selection in the
afternoon. And that afternoon, I got a message from Mrs. Yas saying that
I had passed the selection and prepared myself for the story telling
contest. I was surprised and very very happy, I told my father and
mother about it. I also started practicing every day, either with Mrs. Yas
or practicing independently at my house.

Until the day of the competition came, I got lot number 3 to appear
and thank God I was able to perform smoothly. A few weeks later, the
winner of the competition was announced and I won 2nd place, I was
very happy, my mother was very proud, so did Mrs. Yas.

Contoh 2 :

Cut Nyak Dien is a female national hero from West Aceh. She is the
daughter of Teuku Nanta Setia, and a mother who is a noble from the
Lampagar area. She was born in 1848 in the village of Lam Padang
Peukan Bada, region VI Mukim, Aceh Besar.

As a child, Cut Nyak Dien was known as a beautiful girl. That beauty
is further complemented by Cut Nyak Dien's cleverness in the field of
religious education. In 1863, 12-year-old Cut Nyak Dien was betrothed
to Teuku Ibrahim Lamnga, son of Teuku Po Amat, Uleebalang Lam Nga
XIII. Then, on June 29, 1878, Teuku Ibrahim died. After the death of
Teuku Ibrahim, Cut Nyak Dien remarried Teuku Umar in 1880 who was
a prominent Acehnese warrior. Together with Teuku Umar, Cut Nyak
Dien united to fight the invaders. However, Teuku Umar died on the
battlefield in Meulaboh as a result of being shot by the Dutch on
February 11, 1899. Even though his loved ones had left him, Cut Nyak
Dien still continued his battle for six years. He was a guerrilla from one
region to another. During that time, he along with the people and other
warriors were faced with life's difficulties. Cut Nyak Dien, with his
increasingly old physical condition, kept trying to escape from the
Dutch attack. Cut Nyak Dien was exiled to the island of Java, precisely in
Sumedang, West Java, in 1907. He spent his old age in Sumedang, West
Java after being exiled and exiled by the Dutch . Cut Nyak Dien died on
November 6, 1908 and was buried in the Mount Quail area, Sumedang,
West Java. After that, Cut Nyak Dien was buried in his exile area in
Sumedang and his grave was only discovered in 1959. President
Soekarno through RI Presidential Decree Number 106 of 1964 then
designated Cut Nyak Dien as a national hero on May 2, 1962.
Meanwhile, Cut Nyak Dien's house in Aceh was rebuilt by the local
government as a symbol of his struggle in Tanah Rencong.

Until now, the story of Cut Nyak Dien's struggle is still often
discussed and studied as part of history in schools.
