Diketahui ∆ABC dengan Panjang sisi
b = 5 cm, sisi c = 6 cm dan ∠A =
53⁰. Hitung panjang sisi a dan
tentukan jenis dari segitiga
tersebut.
Penjelasan

Diketahui: b = 5 cm, c = 6 cm, dan ∠A = 53⁰

Ditanya : a? Jenis Segitiga?
Jawab :
Memakai aturan cos
a^2 = b^2 + c^2 – 2 b c cos ∠A
a^2 = 5^2 + 6^2 – 2 x 5 x 6 x cos 53⁰
a^2 = 25 + 36 – 60 x 0,6
a^2 = 61 – 36
a^2 = 25
a = √25
a=5
Jadi panjang sisi a adalah 5 cm dan merupakan
segitiga sama kaki.

Sebuah kapal berlayar ke arah
timur sejauh 40 mil. Kemudian
kapal melanjutkan perjalanan
dengan arah 60⁰ sejauh 50 mil.
Tentukan jarak kapal terhadap
posisi awal saat kapal berangkat!
Penjelasan

Diketahui : AB = 40 mil, BC = 50 mil, dan ∠B =

60⁰
Ditanya
Jawab: : AC?
AC^2 = AB^2 + BC^2 – 2 x AB x BC x cos ∠B
AC^2 = 40^2 + 50^2 – 2 x 40 x 50 cos 60⁰
AC^2 = 1600 + 2500 – 4000 x 0,5
AC^2 = 4100 - 2000
AC^2 = 2100
AC = √2100
AC = 10 √21
Jadi, jarak akhir kapal terhadap titik awal
keberangkatan sejauh 10 √21 mil ≈ 45,83 mil.

03
Pada segitiga PQR diketahui PQ
= 6 cm, QR = 10 cm dan ∠P =
37⁰. Hitung panjang sisi PR!
Penjelasan

Diketahui : PQ = 6 cm, QR = 10 cm, ∠P = 37⁰

Ditanya : PR?
Penjelasan :
QR^2 = PQ^2 + PR2 – 2 x PQ x PR x cos ∠P
10^2 = 6^2 + PR^2 – 2 x 6 x PR x cos 37⁰
100 = 36 + PR^2 – 12 x PR x 0,8
0 = PR^2 – 9,6 PR + 36 - 100
0 = PR^2 – 9,6 PR - 64
PR = (24 + 8√34)/5 atau PR = (24 - 8√34)/5
Jadi, panjang sisi PR adalah (24 + 8√34)/5 cm ≈ 14,13
cm.

Tentukan panjang sisi-sisi segitiga!
Penjelasan

QR^2 = PQ^2 + PR^2 – 2 x PQ x QR x cos ∠P

(2√(x+2))^2 = (x+1)^2 + (x-1)^2 – 2(x+1) (x-1) (cos 60⁰)
4(x + 2) = (x^2 + 2x + 1) + (x^2 – 2x + 1) – 2 ((x^2)-1)
(0,5)
4x + 8 = x^2 + x^2 + 2x – 2x + 1 + 1 – ((2x^2)-2) (0,5)
4x + 8 = 2x^2 + 2 – x^2 + 1
4x + 8 = x^2 + 3
0 = x^2 + 3 – 4x – 8
0 = x^2 – 4x – 5
0 = (x - 5)(x + 1)
x = 5 atau x = -1
PQ = x + 1 QR = 2√(x+2) PR = x - 1
=5+1 = 2√(5+2) =5-1
=6 = 2√7 =4
Jadi, sisi segitiga adalah PQ = 6, QR = 2√7, dan PR = 4

Dalam segitiga ABC diketahui
panjang sisi a = 7 cm, b = 8
cm, dan c = 9 cm, maka besar
nilai sin sudut yang berada di
hadapan sisi terpendek adalah…
Penjelasan

Diketahui : a = 7 cm, b = 8 cm, dan c = 9 cm

Ditanya : Nilai sin sudut di hadapan sisi terpendek?
Mencari nilai cos ∠A
a^2 = b^2 + c^2 – 2 b c cos ∠A
7^2 = 8^2 + 9^2 – 2 x 8 x 9 x cos ∠A
49 = 64 + 81 – 144 x cos ∠A
49 = 145 – 144 cos ∠A
144 cos ∠A = 145 - 49
144 cos ∠A = 96
Cos ∠A = 96/144 = 2/3
Cari sin ∠A

Cos ∠A = 2/3
= samping/miring De^2 = mi^2 – sa^2
De^2 = 3^2 – 2^2
De^2 = 9 – 4
De^2 = 5
Depan = √5
sin = de/mi, maka
Ingat!
sin ∠A = √5/3
