Ada dua jenis estimasi yaitu estimasi titik (point estimation) dan estimasi interval (interval
estimation).
Point estimation : Mengestimasi suatu parameter berdasarkan satu nilai saja. Misalnya
mengestimasi dengan x = x , tentu saja hasil estimasi ini tidak memberikan tingkat
keyakinan tertentu.
