PENDAHULUAN
Larutan elektrolit banyak digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari kita,
antara lain:
a) Pada sel kering (batu baterai) menggunakan NH 4Cl dan MnO2
sebagai elektrolitnya.
b) Pada waktu mencari ikan dengan cara menyetrum air sungai (air
sungai sebagai leketrolit dapat menghantarkan listrik) diharapkan
ikan mati karena kena aliran listrik.
c) Pada sel sekunder (aki) menggunakan H2SO4 sebagai elektrolitnya.
TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN
a. Mengidentifikasi sifat-sifat larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit
melalui percobaan
b. Mendefinisikan pengertian larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit
berdasarkan hasil percobaan
c. Merancang percobaan untuk menyelidiki sifat larutan berdasarkan
daya hantar listriknya

CATATAN:
Gelas aqua digunakan untuk menampung larutan yang akan diuji.
Kabel digunakan untuk menghubungkan antara baterai dengan
lampu dan katoda. Katoda digunakan untuk menghubungkan antara
kabel dengan larutan.
B. MENGUJI LARUTAN
1. Celupkan electrode (batang carbon) ke dalam larutan gula.
2. Amati dan catat perubahan yang terjadi pada lampu apkah
menyala terang, redup, atau tidak menyala samasekali, dan
pada elektroda apakah terdapat banyak gelembung, sedikit
atau tidak ada gelembung sama sekali.
3. setelah menguji sebuah larutan maka kita harus membersihkan
terlebih dahulu elektroda yang digunakan dengan cara dibilas
dengan air biasa lalu dikeringkan dengan tisu/lap agar pada
saat
kita
menguji
larutan
lain,
larutan
tersebut
tidak
terkontaminasi/tercampur.
4. Ulangi percobaan untuk semua larutan yang diuji.
