PENDAHULUAN
PASIF IMUNITAS AKTIF IMUNITAS
Vaccinate (memvaksinasi) / kata kerja : proses memasukkan vaksin kedalam tubuh agar terbentuk
imunitas
BAGAIMANA VAKSIN ITU BEKERJA
SEJARAH PERKEMBANGAN VAKSIN
HETEROLOGOUS VACCINES
A heterologous vaccine incorporates an organism that is antigenically related to
the target infectious agent, but is adapted to another host species. The best example
of such an approach is the use of human measles virus to protect against the related
morbillivirus CDV. This procedure is no longer recommended.

This class of vaccine is the single most commonly used in A killed vaccine includes an organism that is

intact and viable organism that has been ‘attenuated’ to reduce replicate or induce pathology or clinical
its virulence. Live attenuated organisms are capable of inducing low- disease. There are various means of producing
level infection and replicating within the animal, but do not killed vaccines, most often by treating the

unusual conditions (e.g.in particular cell lines or media, or by
passaging them through an animal species to which they are not
adapted). A more refined means of attenuation is to use molecular
techniques to produce genetically modified organisms from which
virulence genes have been deleted or modified. An example
of this approach has been the development of vaccines for
pseudorabies (Aujeszky’s disease) in swine, in which the thymidine
kinase gene has been deleted from the causative herpesvirus.
