RESUME
1. Pengertian Perawat

Perawat atau Nurse berasal dari kata latin dari kata Nutrix yang berarti merawat atau mengasuh.
Perawat adalah orang yang berperan dalam merawat atau mengasuh, membantu dan melindungi
seseorang akibat penyakit, cedera dan tanda penuaan (Harlley, 1997).
Perawat Profesional adalah perawat yang bertanggung jawab dan memiliki kewenangan untuk
memberikan pelayanan keperawatan secara mandiri dan/atau bekerjasama dengan tenaga
kesehatan lain sesuai dengan kewenangannya (Depkes RI, 2002 dalam Aisiyah 2004).

2. Peran Perawat

Peran perawat menurut konsorsium ilmu kesehatan tahun 1989 terdiri dari:
A. Karir Keperawatan
Peran pemberi asuhan keperawatan dapat dilakukan oleh perawat dengan memperhatikan
keadaan kebutuhan dasar manusia yang dibutuhkan melalui pemberian pelayanan keperawatan
dengan menggunakan proses keperawatan sehingga dapat ditentukan diagnosa keperawatan
sehingga dapat direncanakan dan dilaksanakan. tindakan yang tepat sesuai dengan tingkat
kebutuhan dasar manusia, kemudian dapat dievaluasi tingkat perkembangannya. Asuhan
keperawatan dilakukan dari yang sederhana sampai yang kompleks.

B. Advokat Klien
Peran perawat ini dalam membantu klien dan keluarga dalam menginterpretasikan berbagai
informasi dari pemberi pelayanan atau informasi lainnya terutama dalam persetujuan tindakan
keperawatan yang diberikan kepada pasien, juga dapat berperan untuk menjaga dan melindungi
hak-hak pasien yang meliputi hak atas kesehatan. pelayanan terbaik, hak atas informasi tentang
penyakitnya, hak atas privasi, hak untuk menentukan nasib sendiri, dan hak untuk menerima
ganti rugi karena kelalaian.

C. Pendidik
Peran ini dilakukan dengan membantu klien dalam meningkatkan tingkat pengetahuan
kesehatan, gejala penyakit bhkan tindakan yang diberikan, sehingga terjadi perubahan perilaku
klien setelah dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan.

D. Koordinator
Peran ini dilaksanakan dengan mengarahkan, merencanakan dan menyelenggarakan pelayanan
kesehatan dari tim kesehatan agar pemberian pelayanan kesehatan dapat terarah dan sesuai
dengan kebutuhan klien.

E. Kolaborator
Peran perawat disini dilakukan karena perawat bekerja melalui tim kesehatan yang terdiri dari
dokter, fisioterapis, ahli gizi dan lain-lain dengan berusaha mengidentifikasi pelayanan
keperawatan yang diperlukan termasuk diskusi atau tukar pendapat dalam penentuan bentuk
pelayanan selanjutnya.

F. Konsultan
Peran di sini adalah menempatkan konsultasi tentang masalah atau tindakan keperawatan yang
tepat untuk diberikan. Peran ini dilakukan atas permintaan klien terhadap informasi tentang
tujuan pelayanan keperawatan yang diberikan.

G. Peneliti/Pembaru
Peran sebagai pembaharu dapat dilakukan dengan perencanaan, kerjasama, perubahan yang
sistematis dan terarah sesuai dengan metode pemberian pelayanan keperawatan.

3. Fungsi Perawat

Dalam menjalankan perannya, perawat akan menjalankan berbagai fungsi antara lain:

A. Fungsi Independen
berfungsi mandiri dan tidak tergantung pada orang lain, dimana perawat dalam melaksanakan
tugasnya dilakukan sendiri dengan keputusan sendiri dalam bertindak dalam rangka memenuhi
kebutuhan dasar manusia seperti pemenuhan kebutuhan fisiologis (pemenuhan kebutuhan
oksigenasi, pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan dan elektrolit, pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi, pemenuhan
kebutuhan aktivitas dan lain-lain), pemenuhan kebutuhan rasa aman dan nyaman, pemenuhan
kebutuhan cinta kasih, pemenuhan kebutuhan harga diri dan aktualisasi diri.

B. Fungsi dependen
Merupakan fungsi perawat dalam melaksanakan kegiatan atas pesan atau instruksi perawat lain.
Jadi beberapa delegasi tugas diberikan. Hal ini biasanya dilakukan oleh perawat spesialis ke
perawat umum atau dari perawat primer ke perawat keperawatan.

C. Fungsi Interdependen
Fungsi ini dilakukan dalam tim tim yang saling bergantung antara tim satu sama lain. Fungsi ini
dapat terjadi apabila bentuk pelayanan memerlukan kerjasama tim dalam pemberian pelayanan
seperti dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien yang tepat.

education program, authorized in the country concerned to provide services and responsible for
improving health, prevention of disease and services to patients.

2. Role of Nurse
It is the behavior expected of others by someone according to the position in the system, which
can be influenced by the social circumstances of both the nursing profession and the constantly
nursing profession of the nursing profession. The role of nurses according to the consortium of
health sciences in 1989 consisted of:
A. Nursing Career The role of nursing caregiver can be done by the nurse by paying attention to
the state of basic human need which is needed through the provision of nursing service by using
nursing process so that it can be determined nursing diagnosis so that it can be planned and
executed appropriate action according to the level of basic human need, then can be evaluated its
development level . Nursing care is done from a simple to complex.

B. Client Advocate This role of nurses in helping clients and families in interpreting various
information from service providers or other information especially in the approval of nursing
actions given to the patient, can also play a role to maintain and protect the rights of patients who
include the right to the best service, the right to information about his illness, the right to privacy,
the right to self-determination and the right to receive indemnification due to negligence.

C. Edukator This role is done by assisting clients in improving the level of health knowledge,
symptoms of the disease bhkan action given, resulting in changes in behavior of clients after the
health education.

D. Coordinator this role is implemented by directing, planning and organizing health services
from the health team so that the provision of health services can be directed and in accordance
with the needs of clients.

E. Collaborator The role of nurse here is done because the nurse works through a health team
consisting of doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists and others by trying to identify the necessary
nursing services including discussion or exchange of opinions in the determination of the next
form of service.

F. Consultant The role here is to place consultations on the right nursing issues or actions to be
given. This role is done at the request of the client to information about the purpose of nursing
services provided.

G. Researcher / Reformer Role as a reformer can be done by planning, cooperation, systematic


and directional changes in accordance with the method of providing nursing services.

3. Nurse Function
In running its role, nurses will perform various functions including:
A. Independent Functions
function independent and not dependent on others, where nurses in carrying out their duties
performed alone with their own decisions in action in order to meet basic human needs such as
the fulfillment of physiological needs (fulfillment of oxygenation needs, fulfillment of fluid and
electrolyte needs, fulfillment of nutritional needs, fulfillment needs activities and others), the
fulfillment of security and comfort needs, the fulfillment of love love, the fulfillment of self-
esteem needs and self-actualization.

B. Dependent function
Is a nurse function in carrying out activities on the message or instruction of other nurses. So
some of the task delegation is given. This is usually done by a specialist nurse to the public nurse
or from the primary nurse to the nursing nurse.

C. Interdependent Functions
This function is done in team teams that are interdependent between teams each other. This
function can occur if the form of service requires teamwork in the provision of services such as
