Bahasa asing menjadi salah satu media komunikasi yang vital di era ini. Penguasaan
bahasa asing menjadi salah satu syarat penting agar generasi muda Indonesia tidak hanya
mampu bertahan tapi juga mampu bersaing dengan bangsa lain di era ini. Salah satu bahasa
asing yang mendapat perhatian cukup serius dari pemerintah juga masyarakat secara luas
adalah bahasa Inggris. Belajar bahasa Inggris harus dimulai sejak usia muda agar anak-anak
bangsa dapat tumbuh menjadi generasi yang mampu menghadapi zaman modern dalam hal
pangsa pasar global dan teknologi canggih.
Jangan pernah percaya bahwa belajar bahasa Inggris mengharuskan Anda menunggu
sampai usia tertentu. Karena Anda bisa mencoba mengenalkan bahasa Inggris pada anak
Anda sejak dini, jika Anda ingin mereka memiliki kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang baik.
Banyak orang mulai menggunakan metode pembelajaran ini untuk memastikan bahwa anak-
anak mereka memiliki kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang solid. Penting bagi guru untuk

Menurut Brewster dkk (2002:162) ada banyak keuntungan menggunakan lagu sebagai
learning resource. Pertama, lagu merupakan linguistic resource. Dalam hal ini lagu mejadi
media pengenalan bahasa baru, sekaligus media untuk penguatan tata bahasa dan kosakata.
Lagu juga mepresentasikan bahasa yang sudah dikenali siswa dalam bentuk yang baru dan
menyenangkan. Lagu juga memungkinkan terjadinya pengulangan bahasa secara alamiah dan
menyenangkan. Lagu bisa dimanfaatkan untuk mengembangkan semua keterampilan bahasa
secara integratif, termasuk meningkatkan kemampuan pronunciation siswa.

School Students
Foreign languages are one of the vital communication media in this era. Mastery of
foreign languages is one of the important requirements so that the younger generation of
Indonesia is not only able to survive but also be able to compete with other nations in this era.
One of the foreign languages that has received serious attention from the government as well
as the wider community is English. Learning English must start at a young age so that the
nation's children can grow into a generation that is able to face modern times in terms of
global market share and advanced technology.
Never believe that learning English requires you to wait until a certain age. Because
you can try to introduce English to your children from an early age, if you want them to have
good English skills. Many people are starting to use this learning method to ensure that their
children have solid English skills. It is important for teachers to understand that if they want
to start teaching Language Materials English for Grade 1 SD, they only need to explain the

strategy used. Teaching English to elementary school students is different from teaching this
language to teenagers or adults.
Elementary students have its own uniqueness and characteristics that more or less
affect the atmosphere of learning in the classroom and the selection of learning strategies by

According to Brewster et al (2002:162) there are many advantages of using songs as
learning resources. First, the song is a linguistic resource. In this case, the song is a medium
for introducing a new language, as well as a medium for strengthening grammar and
vocabulary. The song also presents the language that the students have known in a new and
fun form. The song also allows the repetition of language in a natural and fun way. Songs can
be used to develop all integrative language skills, including improving ability student
pronunciation.
Second, the song is an affective/psychological resource. Besides fun, songs are also
able to motivate students as well as foster attitude positive about English. Song is not a thing
frightening or threatening to students. Even a song can help increase students' self-
confidence. As proof that they had master something in English, students can be proud sing
English songs in front of their parents.
Third, the song is cognitive resources. Song helps improve memory, concentration
jujga coordination. Students become more sensitive to rhyme as a tool to interpret meaning.
Fourth songs can be a cultural resource and a social resource. Brewster et al (2002) also
revealed that the song provides tremendous benefits for pronunciation learning. Some
important features of pronunciation such as stress and rhythm and intonation can be trained
naturally through songs.
