The rapid development of the electrical energy consumption of 9.2% per year
requires every power plant to always seek continuous and consistent improvement.
Maninjau hydropower is one of strategic assets resources to supply electrical
energy, especially in Southern Sumatera. Risk management is an important aspect
that should be considered in efforts to achieve continuous and consistent
improvement. Risk management in Maninjau hydropower take place without
measurement standards. Measurement standards of risk management is very
important to know the extent to which the development of the ongoing
implementation of risk management, as well as projections of long-term planning
guide risk management in the company.
Measurement standards that can be used in measuring the maturity level of
implementation of risk management is to determine the degree of maturity level.
Measuring degree of maturity level of risk management implementation in Maninjau
hydropower, in this case was conducted using Risk and Insurance Management
Society (RIMS) for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) approach, that classify the
maturity level into five levels: Ad hoc, initial, repeatable, managed, and leadership.
Measurement maturity level of risk management implementation in Maninjau
Hydropower were made of realizable value and value expectations. Realization value
will be described in development analysis to get overview of the actual conditions of
existing condition implementation of risk management, while the expected value is
used as the basis for designing evaluation chart implementation of risk management
in the company.
Based on the results of the measurements made, it was found that the actual
implementation of risk management in Maninjau hydropower located on the third
level (repeatable) which showed that the risk management activities of the present
day has been done with the habit that has begun and reactive to environmental
patterned organization and functional, and is begin to implement any risk
management activities with a consistent but not yet described in the formal
procedure as a whole. While the implementation of the expectation value is found to
be at the highest level (leadership), which indicates that the perpetrators of the risk
management activities of Maninjau hydropower wanted to be part of a risk
management culture of the organization that carried out continuously on each line of
the organization, as well as risk management is integrated as computerized and
automated so that is easier to control and making appropriate policy. Based on the
expected value it can also be designed evaluation chart developed risk management
implementation of 15 key risk indicators, which can be used as an evaluation of the
implementation of risk management maturity levels in Maninjau hydropower.
