SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

Simple present tense merupakan tenses yang digunakan untuk membicarakan sesuatu yang
umum, sesuatu yang selalu terjadi berulang-ulang, atau suatu kebenaran umum. Simple
present tense adalah tenses yang paling sering digunakan sehari-hari.
Untuk mengenali bahwa sebuah kalimat merupakan simple present tense, adalah
menggunakan kata kerja bentuk dasar (Verb 1). Simple present tense terbagi menjadi dua
pola kalimat, yaitu verbal simple present dan nominal simple present tense.

Rumus simple present tense Verbal :

(+) S + V1(s/es) + C
(-) S + Do/Does + Not +V1+ C
(?) Do/Does + S + V1 + C

Contoh kalimat :
(+) I writes a letter for my sister.
(-) I don’t write a letter for my sister
(?) Do I write a letter for my sister?

Rumus simple present tense Nominal :

(+) Subject + to be (am/is/are) + adjective/adverb
(-) Subject + to be (am/is/are) + not + adjective/adverb
(?) To be (am/is/are) + subject + adjective/adverb?

(+) My mother is a teacher.

(-) My mother is not teacher.
(?) Is my mother a teacher?

PRESENT CONTINOUS TENSE

Present continuous tense merupakan bentuk tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan
bahwa suatu aksi sedang berlangsung selama waktu tertentu pada waktu sekarang.

Rumus Verbal :
(+) S + is/am/are + Ving + 
(-) S + is/am/are + not + Ving + O
(?) Is/Am/Are + S + Ving + O + ?

Contoh kalimat Verbal :

(+) I’m reading my book.
(-)I’m not reading my book
(?) Am I reading my book?

Rumus Nominal :
 (+) S + is/am/are + being + C
 (-) S + is/am/are + not + being + C
 (?) Is/Am/Are + S + being + C + ?

(+) I’m being mad because of her egoism.
(-) I’m not being mad because of her egoism.
(?) Am I being mad because of her egoism?
