TERHADAP PENURUNAN STRES PADA SISWA BOARDING SCHOOL

ABSTRACT
THE EFFECT OF FUTSAL AS EXPRESSION MEDIA FOR REDUCING
STRESS IN STUDENTS OF BOARDING SCHOOL
Students of Boarding school are students who live in dormitories and are
required to follow the activities by the school and boarding ranging from waking
to sleep again. Thus, students who live in dormitories get a variety of stressors,
among others, students are required to adapt to the new environment (dorm) and a
full schedule of activities, as well as demands for much of the elderly. Stressors
by the positive effect that they can be eustres, which can be a motivation to be
better, but that is a concern when the stressors that make students to be stress
(distress). Stress is a condition experienced by a person to perform an adjustment
effort is physiologically and psychologically caused by environmental changes are
accepted. The impact is the disruption of health (physiological) and lead to
maladaptive behavior. The impact can be mitigated by futsal.
This experiment to determine the effect of futsal to the stress. Futsal is
one sport that is modified from football. The sport of futsal research done with the
concept of having fun (recreation), which is not competitive, and performed with
the ideal time (30 minutes). The hope with these concepts students feel relaxed,
happy, and healthy physically and psychologically so as to reduce stress.
The subjects were new students (class VII) of SMP MTA Gemolong. The
experiment design was a pretest-posttest control group design with two groups: an
experimental group of nine people and a control group of nine people. The
experimental group did futsal in four meetings, while the control group did not
futsal. Research data collection method based on the stress scale aspects Crider, et
al. (1983) which has been tested on 60 students of class VII shows the scale
reliability coefficient is fair, that is equal to 0.851. Data were analyzed using
statistical analysis of independent sample t-test with SPSS for Windows version
16.00.
Based on the results of independent sample t-test obtained F value of
6.882 and the value of significance (p) of 0.043 (p <0.05). These results indicate
that the sport of futsal activities have a significant effect on reducing stress on
students' boarding school.
