The growing use of smart devices has affected all aspects of human life. We are no
longer strangers to wireless network technology or another name is the Internet of
Things (IoT). Usually, the control mechanism to regulate electrical and electronic
equipment in the house, such as windows, refrigerators, fans, lights, fire alarms,
kitchen timers, uses switches. A home needs a system that can control home
hardware switches easily and can be controlled from a long distance. Householders
will have a difficult problem when they forget to turn off the switch while away from
home for a long period. Furthermore, the householder must return home to close the
appliance switch. This increases user negligence. To overcome this problem, the
researcher can build a prototype of the Smart House project using the Blynk
application which can control the switching from a distance just by using the internet
network. In the process of developing this project, researchers have used the
Waterfall design model as a guide for analysis, testing, and maintenance. The
Arduino Uno Mega Wi-Fi microcontroller system has been used to process the data
received from the Android application, that is, the communication between the
smartphone and the microcontroller through wireless communication. The results of
the functionality test found that the developed project works well. However, this
innovation can be improved by using the Face Recognition System Doorlock facility,
a solar system, and a fence with a flood detection sensor.
