kami kemukakan sebelumnya.
Introduce us from Atambua Christian High School. I'm Eksil as the first speaker; where my task is to
define the motion being debated this morning, then to provide a boundary as the basis for our
team's argument, and will strengthen the argument with some general explanations related to the
topic of this debate.
Furthermore, my colleague Margaret as the second speaker responded to the statement from the
counter team, then reaffirmed our team's argument with concrete examples.
Finally, as the third speaker, sister Eksil will respond back to the statement from the counter team.
Then strengthen our team's argument, and summarize the statements of the first and second
speakers.
The final part of the systematics of this debate will be reiterated by Sister Virgin, the speaker of the
two pro teams.
The debate motion on this occasion is the Government's Policy in Implementing Full Day Schools.
Starting our team's argument, I would like to cite Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National
Education System, Article 3, concerning the objectives of national education.
It is explained that the purpose of national education is to develop the potential of students to
become human beings who believe and fear God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy,
knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent, and become democratic and responsible citizens.
So the purpose of education is not only to get a job but to have good morals.
Who will take care of this organizationally, of course the central government, in this case the policy
through the minister of education.
Nadiem Makarim as the Minister of Education and Culture has issued a policy regarding Full Day
School. This policy applies to all levels of education from elementary, junior high to high school
throughout Indonesia.
"Students can avoid negative influences and counterproductive activities, such as drug abuse,
brawls, and so on". Furthermore, the question of changing the name of full day school into character
strengthening education (PPK) will be explained by my colleague Margareth as the second speaker.
We also need to explain that full day school here does not mean studying all day in class. However,
studying for half a day, then continued with extracurricular activities such as choir, playing football,
and so on that are positive; Thus helping children develop skills and build student self-confidence.
In this section, I want to ask a rhetorical question to the counter team, 'does the counter team not
want to have good morals?'. Because full day school the focus is character education. Regarding this,
my colleague, the second speaker, will explain
Therefore, I can conclude that the government's policy on full day school should and deserves to be
supported with several closing arguments, as follows:
1. Literally the task of a student is to learn. So whatever government policy is as long as it is still in
the learning corridor, it must be supported.
2. In the midst of the technological phenomenon that continues to develop and the tendency of
teenagers to use gadgets to be reduced, then one way is to do full day school.
3. The lack of time between parents and children due to work routines, the full day school policy is
the right choice to prevent children from doing negative actions that are detrimental to themselves
and their future.
4. Life is always evolving, therefore educational institutions must adapt to existing developments
and challenges to produce a generation with good morals and able to compete in an increasingly
modern and challenging era.
5. Only with education will the existence of a nation continue. Therefore, a good education must be
adapted to the challenges faced by Indonesia today; namely social order, radicalism, brawls between
students, and drugs that damage all aspects of the life of the nation and state.
So once again I emphasize that we, the pro team, strongly support this motion, on the basis of the
arguments we have put forward before.
